I installed Bazzite on a junk PC a few weeks ago, and the comments came back with two things. Jokes about my hardware, and a list of distros I should have tried instead. So I tried three of them in one day. Nobara, Linux Mint, and CachyOS, judged on how painful the install was and how they handled Minecraft. Rufus cost me an entire install attempt on Nobara before I switched to Ventoy, and Mint gave me the cleanest setup of the three and then crashed the game anyway. The Arch-based one you all warned me off of as a beginner ended up being my favorite.
