The Secrets Inside a Romulan Vessel

Certifiably Ingame

The Romulan vessels have more differences than just the Singularity core as a power source. Inside their larger ships, like the Mogai and D'Deridex are a network of false corridors, hidden panels and secret rooms. Drawn from the novels of A Dark Veil, lore from the shows and technical plans from multiple eras, let's look at what it's like inside a Romulan starship.

Romulan Warbird is one of the most beautiful ships ever made.

So Romulan ships are basically giant fun houses and escape rooms? Awesome.

gasp No, "Hi all, Rick here"?! Is everything okay? Blink twice if the Romulans have coerced you into making this video!

The D'deridex is one of the coolest sci-fi ship designs of all time.

The last time I was this early to a video, Romulus was still around.

It must be a nightmare for crew to take over another station in an emergency.
"You take over helm controls, input a escape course....
I said get us out of here.
My screen shows we're still not moving."

"I'm trying. It reads as we already went to warp on my display."

Kinda surprised that the Romulan command center doesn't move physical locations on a daily basis.

Plot twist, its all just a really big holoroom so the internals are whatever they feel like making it.

Romulan ships were always cool to me, even as a kid watching TNG. And I always really liked the idea that the Romulans had a totally different method of powering Warp drive rather then Matter/Anti-Matter reaction. It makes sense that other worlds might find or use something different to generate the energy needed to bend space and create a warp field.

I always loved how the D'deridex's silhouette is enormous, but hollow. A perfect fit for the empire's posturing and misdirection.

I really appreciate you noting that the Scimitar and Narada are heavily modified and thus, not typical examples of bridge layout or Romulan vessels in general. I have seen too many videos that take ships like the Millennium Falcon and then present them as typical YT-1300s. Major kudos for that!

Being a Romulan sounds exhausting.

Never send the Tal Shiar if you want it done right.

I feel like this comes up in every video I've seen about Romulan ship design aesthetic, but I always appreciated that the Romulans bathed their ships in green lighting. To humans, it looks peaceful and serene, but since Romulans have green blood it would be the equivalent of a human ship constantly lit with blood red ambiance; always kind of on a 'red alert' footing, perhaps, if Vulcanoids get triggered by green the same way humans humans might be by red. I always wondered and sort of hoped that was the intention of the art department in TNG.

Always thought the Romulan Warbird was such a cool design. I remember having a model kit as a kid that came with the Warbird, a Klingon bird of prey, and a Ferengi warship. I think they were all in scale to one another too which was pretty neat.
