Elvis said that Roy had the best voice in the music business.

That band is an A list of musicians. It shows that Roy was held in such high esteem.

To get a clear picture of how Roy Orbison was regarded by other great musicians, look to who played with him:  Male background vocalists, some of whom also joined in on guitar and keyboards, included Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, JD Souther and Steven Soles. The female background vocalists were k.d. lang, Jennifer Warnes, and Bonnie Raitt.  Roy was also the fifth member of the Traveling Wilburys, which included George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty.  He died in his mid 50s and the Wilbury's disbanded.

Once again you believe your tender years and appreciate the music of my generation - I’m 72 !!!

All that talent enjoying a jam Session.its the best ever.

The purest voice ever !!!!

RIP Roy you genius !!!!

Notice one of the back up singers is the Boss Bruce Springsteen.

Guy in white coat was Elvis's  guitar player from about 1970 on...James Burton

You couldn't have picked a better version of pretty woman. You lucked out.

So much talent on that stage!

that voice-sublime, very gd songwriter 2.

This song was the time people knew how to write songs !!!!

The two guitar solos were James Burton and Bruce Springsteen. Also there Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, Tom Waits, T Bone Burnett and others. This entire concert film is outstanding with even more notable artists in other parts.

Bono of U2 wrote a song SPECIFICALLY for Roy. She's a mystery to me. PLEASE listen to it.

The next song from Roy Orbison: Only the lonely.

😍😍😍😍😍😍

I've seen several reactions to this video, and most reactors recognise a few of the stars who are acting as the backing band - you didn't seem to realise it as you didn't say anything.
That's the whole point of this particular situation, for us viewers to wait for the penny to drop when reactors recognise Bruce Springsteen at least, even if they don't know any others.
I'm sure you enjoyed the song, but it's much better when you know who the other stars are, then people in the comments will tell you that even Elvis was a huge fan and admirer of Roy Orbison.......etc etc

Thanks for reacting to this one;  it's a classic.  I was 12 yrs old when it was released in 1964.  I had never seen this performance; it was awesome.  It was so sad when he died in 1988.  He had another big hit released just one month later:
Roy Orbison - You Got It (Live 1988)   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvR1YgT7QYs

The entire concert was great. Check out "Running Scared" from the same show.
