“Ride the bike you got” Words of wisdom for sure! Love your videos!

I'm 75 and in 2024 I rode from Portland OR. to the Artic Circle, Solo on a CanAm Spyder pulling a small pop up camper. I was on the road 27 days and camped out all but 3 nights and cooked all my own food . It was a trip of a lifetime and I want to do it again.

"Nothing will change your mind quicker about camping than rain" LOL well,  said Fuzzy

Think you need to check the MATH $200. X 30 days is $6000.

A neighbor up in Owatonna, i just found your videos.   Very enjoyable.

Great presentation! Packed w real experience information from a true road animal. Thanks for sharing!

nice video Keith , very nicely done loved the part about how rain and cold can make the hotel look good 😂

Sir your an inspiration

Lethbridge Alberta here, took me a while for the gravy on the cheese and fries haha!

We loaded two kids up with a kiitted out 20 yr old Toyota Sienna and 5 x 10 trailer, and drove to Homer and back to the MTN West. We loved the Cassiar Hwy.  Canada was amazing! That was the the real trip and AK was a sidebar.  I want to do this on a motorcycle next!  Dempster!

Sign me up!!

Amazing! Great vid!  I'd have to catch & cook fish etc or fresh road kill if its legal. Itchy Boots put out great videos & Billion dollar Bogan on a rented Harley was hilarious

Excellent video!

Your information here is spot on.  I was a few days ahead of you this year riding alone.  It rained and snowed on me everyday.  Cold, cold rain.  Hotels are your friend.  I must say all my gear worked and I stayed warm and dry.  Wool clothing and heated gear are a must.  I also rode a Himalayan 450 and it never missed a beat.  Perfect bike for an Alaska adventure.  Wahoo!!

First off, let me say congratulations on passing 80,000 miles on the Himalayan!  I've been trying to get my buddy into ADV riding and am encouraging him to buy a Himalayan 450.  We want to do the TAT and I believe that bike is the perfect choice. I personally own a 2021 KTM 890 ADV R and have always ridden solo. Well except for one quick 80 mile group ride near my home in Michigan. I rode my bike to Baja California, Mexico solo and also all throughout Baja on a two week camping trip bouncing from coast to coast all the way down and back. I see all kinds of ADV riders while I'm on my trips always in groups of no less than three riders and sometimes huge groups of 20 or 30. I always wonder what they're thinking when the see me out in the middle of the desert on some track that a loaded 500-pound bike has no business being on alone. Just as much as I've wondered what it would be like to ride in a group. One thing I do enjoy is never having to make a change of plans by committee!

Get new throttle and clutch cables, lube the heck out of them, seal the ends (I use a condom and black tape) and route them next to the existing cables.  That way changing a broken cable doesnt mean a couple hours taking the fairing, tank, etc off. Plus its a good place to store spares. Take a couple of heavy duty innertubes that will fit you tubeless tires in case you get a hole you cannot patch.  If camping in the bush, have a couple of hiway flares (bright fire, smelly and smokey) and a pack of those novelty string poppers to tie into a piece of fish line around your camp to alert you to moose or bears.

I live in Alaska! I took a mountain bike trip to Whitehorse a few years ago and it’s about a 12-15 hr drive from Anchorage. What’s crazy to think is the closest city over 100k to Whitehorse is actually anchorage!

Greetings,
As always another brilliant detailed video production

Thanks .
