What a life, what a woman!  Whew! Jennie was quite singular for her times - any times.  I didn’t know she stuck it out with her first husband until his death, or about her hospital ship during the Boer War.  I did know she was Winston’s champion in politics.  I admire her greatly & am sad she didn’t have a better end.  But she had someone who loved her at her bedside when she died.  I’m glad about that.

Jenny Jerome. American. Married into the Curchhill family.  Two sons.
Very interesting and good family.

What a story; at 67 years Jennie died too early;  I wish she had lived long enough to see her son elected British Prime Minister! She was a beautiful, brilliant and hardworking woman who was a good wife and mother. She was always destined for greatness. 👏👏

I grew up with the Old Bennington Vermont branch of the Jerome family who were cousins of the Churchill family & they were superb philanthropists promoting education, farming, sports for locals etc. I am a teacher because I was given a Montessori school education in kindergarten where the Lieutenant Governor’s wife taught me to read

Remarkable Girl.
Fabulous telling.
Fascinating.

BRAVO Jenny!!!!

Every picture has a story, and this video captures that perfectly.

What an interesting life, Jenny, lived.

" she did not leave whether of....
Is there nothing  sacred like love.

I think the picture of the couple in costumes is King George V and Queen Mary.🙂

YAY! A new video! Thank you! We need to boost the algorithm. Can't wait to listen. ❤❤

A wholly admirable look into the life of one of the most interesting women -- or people at all  -- of her time, with great influence continuing until well after her death. One somewhat understandable error (if that it in fact be -- I think it is) has to do with Jennie's second son and Winston's brother, Jack. I don't guarantee it, but I believe the picture of the officer you describe as Jack Churchill was a different Jack Churchill. who was a heroic and adventurous British officer who did exist, but not at that time and place. Jennie's Jack was wounded (at Gallipoli?) and was a patient on the Maine. After WWI he became a stockbroker through the good offices of Jennie's financial advisor, Sir Ernest Cassell. An interesting aside is that Jack and his wife, "Goonie", had a daughter named Clarissa who year's later became the wife of Anthony Eden, Winston's Secretary of State (or was it Foreign Secretary?) during WWII and later British Prime Minister in his own rite.

It cuts off at the end and now I’ll never know why the new Italian shoes were being talked about. Just abruptly cut off. I also never heard her second son again after his care on The Maine during the Boor War.  Such an abrupt ending left me  hanging.

I was born during World War 2. Thank you for this extremely interesting documentary about Churchill''s  mother.

Well , seems puzzling is if Lord Randolf had syphilis, he should have passed it on to Jenny. If she was with all those kings and princes than she spread  the disease all over Europe. I suspect he did not have Syphilis

Excellent, in spite of the mispronunciations and inapposite images. Blenheim is pronounced 'Blen-im' in conventional English. Whatever she may have achieved there was always money behind her.

Great documentation with awesome narrators voice

This is the first time I heard of this channel and it sounds interesting. Is it okay that you cover Pamela Churchill Harriman, Daisy Greville (Countess of Warwick), or the Leiter sisters (Mary Curzon, Vicereine of India and Daisy Howard, Countess of Suffolk) ?

Interesting  he was a great man

That Viceregal Lodge in the video is in India, not Dublin.
The form viceregal Lodge Dublin is now the Presidents residence Áras an Uachtaráin
