Did a job years ago for my brother in law  panelling underneath  and around the staircase. Pure nightmare. He was so tight he even complained about having to buy more material. Did charge him at a seriously  low price which he complained at that as well. Only job i did for them.  Was happy when my sister finally divorced him

Not just a plasterer, but a master craftsman. Love your attention to detail and work ethic.

I only do work for my mother when it comes to family I learnt my lessons

This guy has got serious skills. Nice work.

My dad used to be a builder bricky. During school holidays I went on site with him. I was always so proud of him and the attention to details. He often worked with a plasterer and a sparkly. Watching you takes me back to those days when he worked and watched him with a proud son. This was the 70s no health and safety, but I learnt a lesson of attention to detail and accuracy. Thanks for reminding me of my father RIP.

If you work for them, they slag you off saying "he could of been cheaper", if you don't work for them-and they get PROPERLY mugged off by another builder, they slag you off.NO WIN.

Fucking hell that was all going over my head when you were explaining the ins and outs of how to do the cuts. fair play. real artist

none of my family were builders so i couldn't learn from them and i went to building college in the early 80s to learn plastering as an apprentice... toward the end of my apprenticeship i was taught fibrous plastering,  to run cornice in situ, cement run skirtings, window mouldings  etc ... it was the best part of my apprenticeship ... i loved it....injury eventually ended my plastering days as a full time earner but ive loved putting those skills to work on my own  homes, my childrens and hopefully my grand children if i live that long

Been a painter for 25 years. A wish all plasterers were as good and neat and tidy as you. Usualy a shift cleaning there mess b4 a dust sheet is even out the van 😂😂

As an apprentice joiner in the 60's, I wish I had a tenner for every time we put a suspended ceiling in, to hide this sort of coving. It was sacrilege, but all the rage at the time.

Send him down the town for some reverse tapped galvernised 3/8th riveting screws///That should keep him away for a while...
I learn something new, every time I watch this bloke. Class.

Plasterers would be lost without the old plastic milk crates ☺☺

He a perfectionist but the ceiling down stairs aren't level 😂😂😂😂😂

I'm an engineer and I know I'm a pain in the arse

Caw, patterned coving and a media wall in one room. That’s a plasterers nightmare mate 😅

I've found that people that are 'perfectionists' are those that expect complete and utter perfection from everybody else, but are  incapable of it themselves. They're quick to criticise and like to find fault, but can't take any criticism. They're the worst people to work with too.

I used to work for a plasterer and we had a customer that wanted this exact pattern of coving and it was an absolute nightmare. He too was an engineer and he was always breathing down our necks. He was super tight with material money and measured up everything to the CM and didn’t allow for any mistakes. Me and the boss argued so much on that job that when it was done we parted ways mutually, it’s a shame as I really enjoyed that job

I'm a DIY guy with an electrical degree (never used professionally) but on the upside, have been doing home repairs from wiring to plasterboarding, minor tiling and floor work. Thank you for this channel, obviously I cannot compare to someone like you who works with construction every day and for years, so I do my projects slowly.

Thank you so much for sharing all this with us, I am just over 40 and love working with my hands in my free time.

Your channel has helped me fill a lot of knowledge gaps and while I am not efficient enough to do this for a living due to limited practice, it still does a huge difference when working at home, at least it helps me avoid ignorance lol and to do a decent enough job.

You are a treasure and a lovely person. Greetings from Croatia.

Not professional work of course, but my cousin wanted help moving stuff around in his office, he assured me it was just a few things while his wife was out for a weekend trip. I get there and the first thing he wants to move is a big 150 gallon aquarium, for those who don't know that's about 300 lbs EMPTY, he had removed everything BUT the wet sand sitting at the bottom.

Straight up impossible for just us, he was deadset that we could do it just the two of us and after making him swear up and down that I wouldn't be responsible for anything I told him to try and lift his end.

He barely got the end up before it dropped out of his hands and slammed against the table.

Thankfully nothing broke but he did still yell at me for being completely useless until we just moved his desk and some cabinets before calling it a day. He tried to invite me back the day after with 'a couple friends from golf' to move the tank properly but I declined, good thing too because they apparently dropped it trying to get the damn up stairs to his bedroom.

Complete idiot if you ask me, no idea how he scammed those guys into trying it.

I did a house for my dad. He had nil building knowledge but questioned everything I did. Even went around after I left the job for the day and put in extra nails or extra screws. Was doing my head in.
