My new most favorite YouTube channel..... Eva, you spin a great yarn and I mean that in the most positive of ways .....

After the first episode I was really looking forward to this one, Eva. And you didn't disappoint me!

I've now discovered my new favorite history podcast!Thank you Eva!

Your podcasts are so very well researched, and accurate!
I'm not an academic, but I am extremely well read, and particularly knowledgeable in certain area--so I am very accustomed to finding mistakes in history podcasts.  This is absolutely not the case with your podcasts!  👏👏👏

This was a great episode Eva, thank you for this episode, you always do such a great job.👊🏻🍻❤️🇺🇸

"This is the story of how the medieval order of Templar knights was transformed from warrior monks into a satanic sex cult."
Damn, the very first sentence of part 2 is in and of itself a fantastic hook!! 😅 😅

I could watch and listen to Eva all day long; she's so beautiful, and her narration is second to none. And most definitely the best version of the Knights Templar i have ever heard

"King Philip came over from Germany frowning."  Just like in school: Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Francophobia.

43:46 amazing how history repeats itself. Leaders who are willing to subvert society in order to maintain their grip on power

The medieval Inquisition didn’t formally answer to the state the way the early modern Spanish Inquisition did - but they were reliant on the state for armed arrests and to carry out sentences, giving the state large leverage over them, even without the additional factor after 1310 of the Pope being firmly under the thumb of the French crown.

If the Inquisition was under the direct command of royal authority, the English crown would have had no reason to object to their operations in England.  They didn’t let the inquisition operate there precisely because it would reduce the crown’s authority over their system of common law justice for heresy.

A presentation that even JACQUES Molay himself would have been proud of.  🙂

The Templars took refugee in Portugal and reformed the order under King Denis I of Portugal, called Order of Christ.
We still have cultural festivities celebrating the Templar Knights, such is the case in the city of Tomar.

Fantastic take on the ancient tale.  Thanks!

It's always broken my heart to hear what King Phillip IV did to those brave Knights of my Order. He died a month or so after he got his money. All of his children died too. Thanks Eva for this!

I love this topic and glad I subscribed, I first learned about the Templar's through that video game Assassin's Creed Unity. That game was set in 18th century France, and had a prologue of Jacques de Molay. Another fascinating thing I learned about the Notre Dame Cathedral when it burnt in 2019, Paris had to use Assassin's Creed scans of the cathedral to restore it

Talented lady 💪🏻 Great work

King phillip sounds familar these days
