Full Discloser, I did listen to Satisfaction a few months ago on my Top 5 Billboard from 1966 video! But other than that, I have not listened to the Stones.

Their best song from the 60s is "Gimme Shelter".  You owe it to yourself to check it out.  The opening notes give me chills.

How the fuck anyone makes it to their 20's without hearing the Rolling Stones is beyond me.

Charlie Watts pounding it out on Paint it Black is inspiring. I really miss him.

Jagger's vocals in Sympathy is, in my opinion, one of rock's greatest singing performances ever.

You talked over some of the best lines in Sympathy.  One being, “I shouted out, who killed those Kennedys?, when after all it was you and me.”  He was basically saying, people like to blame the devil for these things, but it’s really them who committed these atrocities.  It’s a genius song.

She's A Rainbow, Salt Of The Earth, Gimme Shelter, Let It Bleed, Monkey Man, You Can't Always Get What You Want, Brown Sugar, Sway, Can't You Hear Me Knocking, Rocks Off, Sweet Virginia, Tumbling Dice, Loving Cup, Happy, Plundered My Soul, Angie, Winter, Some Girls, Beast Of Burden, Start Me Up, Slave.

So many great songs!! <3

Keith gets knocked for not being a guitar virtuoso, but he came up with more memorable riffs than anyone I can think of, and that is what rock and roll is all about.

I saw the Rolling Stones in Detroit at Olympia Stadium, on their Let it Bleed tour. I was 16 years old.  I don’t think my eyes left Mick Jagger for the 75 minutes he was on stage. I’ve seen many great concerts, but that one was the greatest I ever saw. It cemented my love of rock music forever.   The opening acts, Terry Reid and B.B. King were amazing, and when Jagger came out and started with “Jumpin’ Jack Flash,” he had the audience. Great memory!

The line "after all it was you and me" sums it up. There may or may not be a Satan, but  evil is performed by, and within, us all.

"Paint It Black" is about a girlfriend's funeral. The line of black cars with flowers and his love, "both never to come back."

Paint it Black and Ruby Tuesday show the importance of Brian Jones during this time. He was a gifted multi instrumentalist- pick up nearly anything and play something quickly. He’s  playing sitar and recorder. He also played the marimba riff on Under My Thumb among other contributions

60's and 70's music was the best. I am so lucky to have been young and grown up with this music ❤

The 60s...........  The Beatles and the Rolling Stones.....  the best two groups and working parallel and challenging to each other. Innovation, experimentation, techniques... And they were friends.  Nothing like it ever since.

Your "clutching my pearls" response to 'Sympathy for the Devil' cracked me up!!!

I'm so blessed to have grown up with this wonderful music.   The radio was,  compared to what is now,  really so awesome.

I was a young teen in LA and me and two friends got on 10 speeds and headed for the mountains.  The first night in the lower hills we camped not far from a small area of homes and they had a block party that night, and the band played "Jumping Jack Flash" several times.  It was a great night!  The stars and live music.  Great memories of a time - even in LA when 3 teens could safely go for a 3 day ride.  Good times!

Gimme Shelter is the one song you need to hear. It's been used in so many movies and it has one of the greatest backup vocals ever.

When 'Jumpin Jack Flash' would come on the car radio in 1969 or '70, my four-year-old son would perk up and sing along with parts of it he could understand. Great memory!

"This is totally different"
Yeah.
Music used to be like that before the Age of the Clones and Drones.
