Few Hall of Famers were as despised as defenseman Chris Pronger. Over 18 seasons, he racked up 8 suspensions and constantly pestered and bullied opponents. But the towering defenseman had one of the most complete skill sets of his era. A 4-time Norris Trophy Finalist and winner of the 2000 Hart Trophy, Chris Pronger ranks among the greatest defensemen of all time. He captained the St Louis Blues for 7 years and went on to guide the Oilers, Ducks, and Flyers to the Stanley Cup Final — succeeding with Anaheim in 2007. This video examines the polarizing, ruthless, and somewhat unparalleled career of hockey's most hated Hall of Famer.

Stepping on someone’s legs should be life sentencing

Pronger had everything but class.

Prongers career ended with a stick to the eye. Live by the sword die by the sword.

No player quite as dominant as Prongs. Imagine him playing in today’s era - they couldn’t stand a chance

Prongs only played in Philly for 145 games yet he’s still beloved here like he was a player we drafted and retired. Legend

Like Stevens, you knew THAT the hit was coming, just not WHEN. In Pronger’s case, that applied to the dark arts as well.

Would love one about Derian Hatcher, the diet Chris Pronger

Imagine if he wasn't injured and played in that 2012 Flyers Pens series. Mannnn would've been even more entertaining.

He was a playoff monster. One of those guys you want on your team so you dont have to play against him.

As a kid I always wanted Pronger to play with Scott Stevens in New Jersey…

My favorite defensemen. Too bad we couldn't put it together while he was in STL. He was a good offensive dman but if he was just putting up 10 more points a few of those years he would have multiple Norris.

This is a spectacularly put together video… more! Happy new years! (Also today is my birthday 😊) love Pronger, one of my top 3 all time

At 14:20 "His team was never a match for the Blackhawks" that cup final was decided in overtime of game 6. Seems like it was a pretty decent match to me.

Nice video, remarked the hate I had for prongs lol

i loved everytime a prime bertuzzi played against pronger. It was like Bertuzzi would never pay attention to him, no matter how many times pronger would bounce off him, until Bertuzzi would crunch him in the corners smoosh his ugly face against the glass and not a damn thing pronger could do.
