Any company demanding its employees work extremely long hours should be prosecuted.

your boss isn't right. he's a mean person and i'd even go as far and say that he's an abuser. forcing people to work sick and then gaslighting them and screaming at them is emotional abuse

I was offered a software engineering job in Japan, but I politely declined, knowing I wouldn't be able to handle the insane work culture there. Hangin' there!! Your body has a right to rest. Your boss is the problem, not you.

You are NOT useless, you are genuinely sick with a virus and that isn’t because of a lack of self care it’s just life, rest, drink lots of fluids and take paracetamol to take the edge of the illness, you can’t cure it simply manage it until it leaves your body

One thing I've  learned take care of your mental and physical  health. Because these jobs will replace you in the blink of the eye!! Do the best you can!!

Being worked to the bone, yelled at and bullied 24/7, being sick and dealing with the guilt of staying home with a full inbox is horrible. How can humans be treated this way and for how long can the body and mind survive? You should look for another job preferably a work from home office job. Your existence is not living a fulfilling happy life😢

Gosh the feeling of not being able to relax or rest even when you're this ill. The intense work environment in Japan is so wrong and unfair

04:08 We can ask the boss a counter question: if he can't control his emotions, then why did he decide that he could lead people?))

Damn, Japan fascinates me and I loved it as a tourist, but living there seems brutal, not even to be able to be sick in peace

My wife and I just subscribed. I have to tell you, hearing how your boss treated you when it was so obvious that you were sick was disgusting. Im fifty years old and recently had some health scares I almost didn't make it back from , but I did, and I have to tell you life is far too short to spend it all subjugated to somebody that treats you like crap. I've been there too, because I have a wife and two children and I'm the lone provider . I've had to swallow my pride and bite my tongue because I needed the job at the time. But I refuse to ever do that again. No job is worth the loss of your self respect and your dignity. No one has the right to take that from you because you don't meet their quota. Hopefully you will get free of it somehow. Find what makes you happy and pursue that. Do what you need to do for yourself. Whatever you decide , we and many others who watch, will be cheering for you to make it through each tough day. Take care, my friend.

Maaaan pls don’t blame yourself for being sick.. that’s absolutely normal especially when working soooo much cuz immune sistem gets weaker
Love from italy ❤️

Please take care of yourself. Everyone gets sick. Stress is bad. You are important, please take care. 😊

Your boss is blaming you for being ill. He should be blaming himself.

I got sick in late July this year. Went to work without taking a break or any sort of rest due to an upcoming audit. Worked long work hours and the illness didn't go away. After the audit I got really sick. i really thought i was going to die. I couldn't go to work for 3 weeks. Had to spend a lot of money on doctors and medication. The company passed the audit  but my wallet and health took a massive hit. If I took a couple of days rest in the beginning maybe it wouldn't have come to that. Take care of yourself out there man - Your health matters more  than anything.  Your only help is yourself.

Japan really needs to revisit the work hours of its people

You clearly needed that rest. That was your body telling you you're overworking yourself. I can relate with the work culture in the US shaming you for taking off work when you're sick. Everyone judges you, especially your boss. I had a boss one time get upset that a coworker took off work for a family member's death, and thought she should have taken off time in the future instead. I think people forget we're only human and life doesn't have to be non-stop all the time. You're not a slacker for needing a sick day. I hope that day off rejuvenated you a bit though and I'm glad you're saving money and moving in with your parents! Hopefully you'll feel a little less stressed. 😊

Japan work life seems so intense!!

this video is probably one of the better  "overworked salaryman in tokyo"  video type. No goofy AI thumbnails, a monologue, nice editing, its so much better. Keep enduring, REN. Perhaps someday you will find  a much better job.

One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Working like this and expecting a happy healthy life is madness. Listen to your body , it’s yelling at you.

Out of all the Japanese salary man vlogs I've seen, yours stand out the most. Not only are you using your voice to narrate, your style of editing is also kind of funny and humourous in a way, especially when you add the sound effects. I like the little sassy or sarcastic comments sometimes, your vlogs are so entertaining!
