Cracking windshields: the reason was a production fault: the manufacturer let the hot glas cool too fast.

I have a 2017 three touring at 225k miles, at 200k the heat exchanger thing happened just bypassed the hoses myself, so fixed for free . No other issues. I still get anywhere from 47mpg to 57 mpg depending on how I drive. If we're talking reliability, efficiency and price for a used one 10/10 I really think there is no better option for a used car

I have a 2019 Prius XLE with about 52K miles on it. I love that thing. I bought it used from a single-owner, and it is one of the best financial decisions I've ever made. Also, the headroom is pretty impressive, and this is coming from a Prius owner who is 6'4" tall!

One thing to consider, though, is how low to the ground it is. If a car shopper is coming from, say, a cross over SUV or something higher, it might take a bit of getting used to, but you quickly know not to pull up too close to a parking stump and to slow down or be careful when going over speed bumps and pot holes, etc. It also handles lightly flooded areas pretty well, and this is coming from an owner who lives in South Florida where it floods pretty easily in certain places.

You can bypass the heat exchanger in the exhaust. You can block out the tubes that go to the exhaust. There are plenty of videos on YouTube doing it. I did it to my 2017 Prius prime. The car warmed up faster here in Illinois in the winter after  blocking it.  Great car but the 2017 had screen issues also only on the prime with the big screen. Which cost 5k to replace. That why I traded my vehicle in. No warranty and the screen was going out.

Your opinion about auto windows has some validity but as it’s a Toyota they will continue to work without issue. My 2017 Prius gen 4 basic trim continues with no electrical or mechanical issues with only regular maintenance. The only caveat is 6 monthly servicing unless you do over 6000 miles/10000 kilometres then service accordingly. No extended intervals and reliability is assured. Keep the cooling intake for the battery(high voltage)clear&clean. Transmission fluid every 60000 miles/100000 kilometres. 100% reliable. Level driving,steady speed will achieve 100 mpg. Overall economy 68 mpg imperial. Brilliant car and not changing it for anything newer. Have a Honda CRZ for fun. Cheers from Australia.

I have a 2016 Prius three Gen 4. I brought it to the Toyota dealership and because it was under 15 years and under 150,000 miles they just fixed it for free the same day I brought it in

The prime larger touch screen tends to fail in the interior and it's pretty expensive so I just went with the non-prime car

Toyota did an updated part for the driver side CV axle. I didn't hear anything on until about 30K miles and now it does the clicking in about 76K miles However I don't think there's any danger involved with it.... I do plan to replace but just when it gets annoying enough as it's only at very low speed on deceleration usually in a straight line
