Thanks for putting this video together, cant imagine the amount of work involved in making this video over so many months

Usually it takes longer than this, 1 hour to build a house is pretty solid.

A paper and cardboard house for a seven-figure sum is simply ridiculous.

Japanese‑American superintendent here, to all my fellow Europeans and people who may not be educated on why Americans builds homes like in this video: it’s not because Americans are “cheap” or “don’t know how to build.” It’s because the U.S. developed a completely different construction ecosystem based on its geography, history, and economics.

America has massive timber resources, so wood framing became the national standard. Over time, the entire industry building codes, labor training, supply chains, engineering practices optimized around light‑frame construction. What looks like “paper and cardboard” is actually a highly engineered system using structural lumber, OSB/plywood shear walls, and strict seismic/wind codes. It’s designed for flexibility, fast construction, and easy repair, not for medieval‑castle aesthetics.

Meanwhile, Europe builds with masonry because forests were depleted centuries ago, stone was abundant, and labor traditions evolved around bricklaying. So yes, European homes feel heavier and more permanent, but that’s a cultural legacy, not a universal standard of quality.

The frustration people express “seven figures for a house that looks flimsy”, comes from comparing two totally different building traditions. The U.S. system isn’t inferior; it’s just optimized for different conditions: earthquakes, hurricanes, cost efficiency, and speed. The materials may look thin, but the engineering behind them is anything but.

As an architect in Malaysia who also learned about stick framing, I’m glad we followed European standards. Stick framing is soooo dang tedious. Kudos to the hardworking and skilled workers.

This one video summoned the entire population of Europe apparently

There seems to be a common theme in the comments, but hardly anyone will just give them credit on their hard work and beautifully orchestrated video production.

A wooden shed on concrete foundation. That will be multiple millions, please. We, Europeans watching this, in disbelief. My chicken house is built to a higher standard.

I have ADHD on the autism spectrum, meaning I'm both mentally chaotic and love perfection. For me, films like this are like therapy. They calm my ADHD, and the perfect execution satisfies my autism. This film and the house are truly beautiful. It was a pure pleasure to watch this film. Thank you, and congratulations on your accomplishment!

I can’t begin to describe how satisfying it is to not have any annoying, repetitive infomercial music clogging up the raw construction noises. Well done. 10/10.

Anyone looking at this dreaming about building a house, may God bless you and I hope that you will be able to achieve it in life one day.

Multi-million dollar home made from ply is crazy stuff!

Just because you have an expensive house, doesn’t mean you get better quality, it just means it’s gonna be bigger.

At least, after a hurricane, the concrete base will remain 😂😂

If I was a multimillionaire I would never spent millions for a wooden house

love watching people excel at their crafts.

The amount of aggregate used to fill what could have been a full hight semi basement its a missed opportunity

People really just hating. This channel is just building the house. They aren’t making the prices. They didn’t design the house. They followed the blueprints they received. You guys did great. You built the house that was asked for and it looks amazing.

I reaalllly wanna send one of those home inspection YouTubers through this to find every issue the video maker didnt show

HOLY SHIT! I think I'm a bad ass when I do a little home improvement project.  I have been seriously humbled. I didn't care for some of the design elements but the detailed work involved it unbelievable.
