I'm just here for the oñyo. I make my pickled onions differently, but hearing this man say oñyo makes me happy 😁

@T-Hawkeyes 1 year ago

RECIPE:
Cut oñyo think pole to pole
Pour boiling water over oñyo - let rest 20 -30 minutes
PICKLE JUICE (brine):
1 Sliced Jalapeno Pepper (deseeded)
1 cup red wine vinegar (or other favorite vinegar)
1 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 tsp. Cumin seeds
Black pepper corns
Anise Seed

Pour brine over drained oñyo and let set at room temp for 2 hours. Then refrigerate and enjoy next day.
Rub them on your nipples or enjoy them on food.

Chef Jean-Pierre became a YouTube star with a video about chopping an onyo, now he made a video about how to pickle an onyo. Happy onyo cooking.

Chef said " I measure everything out" . Pours brine "Oh we have way to much " hahaha

4:46 “…you notice? I measure everything!” Then Chef Jean-Pierre proceeds to pour multiple things in, absent a measuring device!

I made this recipe a few days ago and now I have a whole new way to use onions. Absolutely delicious. I can think of many ways to use them, but I don't know if I ever will because it is so tempting to just eat them right out of the jar. Thank you Chef Jean-Pierre.

My 18 year old son is a huge fan of yours and he just said Saturday he wants to make pickled onions. I said, "Vidalia?" and he said "No, red onions". I just showed him your video and it is clear you two have telepathy 😄

Chopping an onion so smoothly with a serrated knife is a whole different level of impressive.

Learning how to cut the onion the proper way has made such a huge difference! We skip the soak for a little bit of a firmer onion

@BhajanSangeetSaini 3 years ago

Roast beef and yorkshire pudding my nana Jean used to make on a sunday with pickled onions.
Simply made but incredably derricious!
She used malt vinager of which. Adore just mixed with some salt,pepper and sugar and just plain white onions thinly sliced.
Nana Jean was a damn good cook! Xx

Your happy, joyous demeanour is truly therapeutic for me. With the th8ngs thiscworld suffers, and the sadness I cannot change, I find warmth and happiness in cooking, but mostly from learning from you , Chef. You are a great guy, and an excellent teacher. With warmest regards, Cam.
