best i've read:  Cover penalty is a penalty to attacking models.  Some get it, some don't.  It is not a bonus to the defending unit.  Helps me keep it straight.

uff i am so immersed with these narrative rules it hurts ... it really hurts O:

Best summary of 11th line of sight I've seen. I like that you can assume terrain areas and cover has elements of the battlefield including smoke, debris, fire, or other conditions on the battlefield that would block line of sight. It makes infantry make more sense that they would be using these conditions to avoid fire from a narrative standpoint, and it makes the game more balanced imho that an entire army cannot be shot up turn 1 by your opponents backline of tanks. Now stepping in terrain is a must, and by doing so you inadvertently are taking objectives by design. I personally think this is the best edition we've seen so far. Great video

My very casual group of 40K 10e players, never fully understood the 10e rules.

we got it mostly right most of the time.   but I would say that we never all had a full grasp on the rules

part of it may be because we were pretty casual. we didn't play all that often. and we only played in our group. So we never really got outside perspectives.

I keep wanting to dump 40K all together. A 30 minute video to explain such an important rule is just so draining

If I was a new player I would have been so confused so quickly lol

I absolutely needed this video, to understand!

This was really really helpful - explained the best video I’ve seen and really sorted terrain for me thx

These are the topics I’m struggling with the most, thank you for breaking all this down.  Def worth studying this video a few times.

So well done and so helpful. Thanks!

"knowledge is power" for the algorithm

@tacticaltortoise me and one my best friends just played our first game of 11th on last friday and played terrain all wrong! Thank you so much for making these videos and help clarifying these otherwise very confusing parts! your videos are so helpful and we greatly appreciate it!

thank you for this, as a huge fan of warhammer but new to attempting to play the tabletop this was very very helpful

Thank you so much for this 🙏

Translating the intention of the rules versus how the rules are written is always a challenge at the beginning of an edition.  This one is especially hard because all the edge case rules were left “as is” for many units.

I’m very happy to see this video, there’s tons of confusion going on within this topic.

Thank you ! Please do a video on fight chase next. So much more with pile in overrun and consolidation in 11th!

Great video!

Actually vehicles can traverse heavy terrain above the 2" height as long as they can pay the vertical up/down move and the horizontal displacement of their whole frame. This essentially makes the movement impossible (too expensive to do so) but it is possible for some one level walls with a good 6" advance.

23:25 - Did you try drawing a laser line from the far edge of the most outside marine to the outside of the most outward gaunt? I have a sneaky suspicion that a laser would find LOS there and then the entire unit is targetable.

I took a screenshot and I was able to draw a line. It's thin but that's all it takes to offer up LOS. Admittedly, you only get to shoot with one marine, but its important to be aware that shooting lanes are from any part of the model, not the gun.

Was there a charge phase video you did a few months back I can't seem to find it. Thanks for the content you make btw
