CORRECTION/UPDATE - From leaked 11th Rules it looks like the 'allocation groups' are only created before rolling saves thankfully, so you don't have to do it before dice are rolled (as was implied by GW's example pictures!). Would have been a pain otherwise!

GW: We want to speed up the game !
Also GW: Wardens of Ultramar !

I like how this method makes characters a bit more durable, but also makes precision useful, AND makes things flow a bit faster on top of that. Good change overall.

Auspex is like that one independent journalist that you can always trust to be true

Fighting EC is going to be scary. Their battle line units all have precision on everything

Tormentors, Infractors, and Lucius just got an insane buff with this change

My Headtakers suddenly became far more dangerous, very excited to see how this translates to in-game

Can someone check if this man is even human still? Auspex, leanrs, informs, creates, and uploads inhumanly fast.

This does seem to make having a couple of 'tank' models in a squad far less viable, aka 2-4 Deathwatch Veterens with storm shields in a 10 man squad, the first 4 rolls will now just go through and nuke them. Ablative chaff models in your squad are now better at absorbing damage than armour.

Anything to reduce the pain of 5 Custodian Guard vs 20 poxwalkers

Emperor's champion rubbing his hands

Well, that’s funny because this is exactly how I’ve been playing 10th edition

Back to a old system of doing saves, was about time.

It'd be interesting if precision let you choose the order as the attacker rather than just targeting characters first. Like if you shoot a crusader squad without a character precision does nothing, but if you could pick to target the initiates first and the neophytes second that could be quite impactful.

Not that precision needs any buffs from the sound of it!

With these changes, my Emperor's Children will be eating good in 11th :D

@Atom-Phyr 4 months ago

I get it. Makes sense and makes small units into extra padding for characters.

It seems this is more a buff to massed Precision attacks than to single weapons like 'Eadbanger or a Vindicare. That's a reasonably rare thing, Emperor's Children being a notable exception. One thing I'd really like to know is how it interacts with Miracle Dice, where typically at the moment you might roll all-but-one save to see if it's worth putting a 4+ in to keep a character alive.
