They'd never done a Christmas song and wanted to do one.

Brilliant. I'm 63 and been a massive ABBA fan since their beginning , it just goes to show the talent of this group that they manage to reach all the generations still today, there will be no other group like them

Thank you so much for reviewing the album. You were so right about "Keep An Eye on Dan". Bjorn (who wrote the song) said that there are not a lot of songs that talk about divorce.  Great job!! Glad you enjoyed the album.  The world is so much better with ABBA in it.

"I Can be that woman" deals alcohol addiction issues and its toxic results within a couples relationship .Tammy the little pet is named after legendary Top country singer Tammy Wynette, that died in her early 50s cause of similar problem.Apart from that, Benny have publicly admitted having some past alcohol addiction that had to fight and finally won since he is "clean" for nearly 20 years. It's been reported that Bjorn had also  had some problem  in the past  but is ok now too. They gave out this album in "uncharted waters" and when they saw the rapturous public response, they stated that they were really happy that their fans enjoyed it the same way Abba did while recording it.Also both Agnetha and Frida got aware of peoples emotional response when they first saw real time many of us  fans bursting into tears during this livestreaming on 2nd of September '21 as well as many fans' reaction in the net some time after, while crying  on their 1st time listening to both songs.Frida  even twitted  "I cried too..."  some weeks later on when asked.

Ode to freedom is stunningly beautiful ❤
What a way to say goodbye..

Great reaction video. Enjoyed watching it! 😃

I had a different interpretation of the song I COULD BE THAT WOMEN NOW. For me its a story of a relationship that has been not as good as it could have been. That she realize she is at fault as much as he was and that she is willing to finally be the woman he always wanted.  That is just my prospective and I love how you noticed the music connection to sos and keep a eye on dan. I hadn’t noticed that before and it could be a sequel to S.O.S. Great video reaction.

Hallo you nice cheerful girl!Thanx for ABBA.Do know that everything started in 2017 with these "2 new songs".1 year later it was officially anounced what happened in this recording studio and all the magical chemistry that flooded all over the air again. So they decided to record a whole album since the girls agreed too. They even said that if they didn;t like the result then its ok! "we won't release it".As they said they didn't want to compete Drake and such artists of today. They  also decided not to sound "overmodernized"" but more "organic" but  record a "trend-blind" album that they could fmainly all 4 of them enjoy. And that was really honest! They released this without excpecting anything after 4 decades of hiatus. But the success was overwhelming.VOYAGE blasted N01 in 18 countries and almost top 3 elsewhere, causing a lil Abba-quake.Now that's an achievent in today's the "streaming" era!Do listen to it.It's quite "deep", sophisticated  and will grow on you even more after some listens.

No doubt about it i!
Great review reaction 👍

Great reaction!

So, did you like it? I think you did!  And you have a great understanding of the songs which can't be easy on first hearing, especially if your first language isn't English.  Well done Hedvig.

So cool watching your reaction. I also discovered Abba through the mama mia movie and been a big fan of them since then. I love all their songs and it was quite unreal in a got way, that they released this new album. It was so unexpected. I really love all their songs and all songs on this album. My favorite tracks are don't shut me down, I can be that woman, keep an eye on dan and no doubt about it :)

2 years later  ... Ode to Freedom .. still listen to this track more than any of the others..... more than 7.5/10  methinks ..... 🤔 🤓

In retrospective, my biggest gripe with this album is that too many songs are in B flat Major: Little Things, Don't Shut Me Down (first verse), I Can Be That Woman and Bumblebee. And also that maybe there's a bit too much D Major: When You Danced With Me, Don't Shut Me Down (final chorus) and No Doubt About It. I think this is because of the ladies' sadly diminished vocal range, but I still think they could at least change things up a bit with maybe B (normal) Major or even a minor key (as seen in Keep An Eye On Dan, which works masterfully in D minor).
Still, I can't hate this album. It's one of those absolutely unforgettable musical moments in your life, as this very record turned me into a fan and now I highly regard them as among the greatest musicians of the 20th century. Because even though I have these aforementioned gripes, I can't believe they kept their musical essence so well and released something on par with their already ridiculously high standards 40 years later.
Your review was quite sweet, best regards.

I enjoyed your reaction so much! I cried once again listening to the songs with you, haha

You have amazing maturity and insight for your age

that's the purpose of putting the dog IN the song.. it doesnt lie. its really quite literal.
women can be toxic too

Get yourself to ABBA Voyage!

Thank you for a lovely reaction to this wonderful album I´m definetly  subscribing . You have a lovely postivie energy and I´d love to see more videos of you. You are Norwigian right? Just guessing because of your  name (: Have you heard the soundtrack to Björn and Bennys musical Kristina från Duvemåla? If you haven´t I would highly recommend you reacting to it. There is an english version as well. In my opinion it is Björn and Bennys masterpiece  and one of the best musical scores ever written.
