DN TV

Two British Guys watching Star Wars: Return of the Jedi for the very first time — and after everything this saga has put us through, we were not emotionally prepared for how it all ended. Movie Reaction | First Time Watching | Star Wars Reaction From the daring rescue at Jabba's Palace, to the forest moon of Endor, to the final, impossible confrontation between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader — this film brought the entire saga home in a way we simply didn't see coming. We've been on this journey from the beginning and watching it all come to a close — completely blind, no spoilers, no idea what was waiting for us — was something we will never forget. Two British lads, completely undone by a galaxy far, far away.

When the super star destroyer is taken out, the actor playing Admiral Ackbar was told to cheer and celebrate with his crew. The actor objected to this direction feeling it would be more appropriate for the high ranking admiral to sit down and quietly reflect his soldiers who died under his command to achieve this victory.

Carrie Fisher was 19 years old when filming for Star Wars began. Mark Hamill was 24. “I wonder if Leia is Luke’s Mum?” I honestly worry about you guys sometimes 😂

Hooked now you are. Yes. All the films need you watch. Who the mother is learn you will. To all of them react you will. Tired you are not. Sleep you need not. There is no try, only do. Yes.

The Ewok that meets a befriends Leia was played by a very young Warwick Davis. He was 12 years old during the majority of filming for Return of the Jedi (1983)

Luke fixated on Vader’s severed hand not because it was mechanical, but because he and his father had come full circle… BOTH with mechanical hands… and BOTH had cut each other’s hand off in battle against each other.

You were right. The Death Star commander concentrated on getting the superlaser operational.

That's the joy of watching these movies in release order instead of chronological order. When you finish these three and you get into the prequels you're hyped and ready for answers to questions that you wondered about. And when you finally get those answers through the prequel series, the satisfaction is so much greater than having watched it from episode 1 to episode 6.

Actually, the biggest common factor between Darth Vader, Luke, and Leia, that allowed them to sense each other, is the fact that they were related by blood; and thus connected on a genetic level.
