4:23 For anyone curious, this is reversed audio from an in-universe news report that says "The community mourns the loss of Micheal Williams and holds hope for Scott's recovery."

They added “Plunge” as an alias on the wiki from you so

Congrats, you contributed to it

0:08 Fun fact: the same dev that made super mario bros X is the same one that made Terraria, Redigit.

The reason the game appeared to open twice is that the game opens itself back up if you wait. The second instance came from the manual opening you did.

I think plunge being officially named guilt and you running away from it means it being the literal manifestation of guilt and you coming to terms with it at the end not running anymore because you realise you don't deserve it

I have to respect this game. Going from a simple fan game that just reeks of the early 2000s and throwing you a curveball and having spooky Marios and drunk driving is some top notch stuff

My father died 3 years ago of a heart attack. He was just doing work as usual. Every day I feel this guilt eating at me for not doing anything; for not saying goodbye to him when I left for school, for not hugging him one last time. This fangame gave me an odd comfort in that respect.

14:13 "I like the little noise they make when you defeat them, such a silly gloopy guy"
1000 yard stare

I lost my dad two years ago to COVID (right before turning fourteen), and while I've worked through a lot of my grief, I still feel some intense survivors guilt periodically. For a spooky Mario game, it's got a pretty real and hard-hitting message. I also love the original level designs. Props to the creator for making a cool little game. B)

15:28 Plunge Max sounds like a cleaning product 😭

It’s a me a mario

Being a fan of ToadBup is like being a fan of Mario before he got his own totally normal fan game.

Game: Overcoming guilt and loss
Comments: Changed sound effect no no no no no

7:18 Close enough. Welcome back Sponge/Pretzel.

This is just a normal Mario game. Nothing bad happens.

0:25 the Mario Maker 2 disrespect is crazy. The first one will always hold a special place in my heart, but 2 had everything 1 did and more, it was a pretty big improvement in most aspects

“Editor, put the green screen car crash” - Eevee Sophist

Strangely enough, if you have a disk drive on your computer, when the game crashes for the first time, the game actually causes your disk drive to open up a few seconds before it reopens. I'll be honest, it really gave me a good scare as I wasn't expecting it... and also the game reopening with that face and the murmuring also gave me genuine chills. -

“You get stuck on the corner of blocks”

Jesus Christ this is giving me nostalgia whoever made this sure did know that vibe damn

15:56 im like 100% sure this is a example game in gamemaker 8.0, really cool how its incorporated into the game
