Everybody is just tired of the Rolex, Rolex AD and GMD grifter. New release or none it doesn't matter because 99.9% of people will never get one offered to them. Yesterday there was about 8 sales personal standing around in the Rolex AD in Caesars Palace Casino. The Asian female manager there was so rude to me, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Rolex, ADs, and the GMDs have absolutely destroyed it's brand and market.
To be honest, I’m a collector, I have zero intention on flipping them, I think it’s so disgusting and disrespectful to the brand in my opinion. My Rolex will be passed to my children. My Authorized Dealer is pretty kind and respectful, I am not required to purchase the watch I am not interested. My money is good enough to them and I am always welcome there.
Rolex wants their watches on the wrists of people who love them. Sure. Then why of the more than 1 milliion watche produced per year is half ladies models (ALL with precious metals) and are the men's allocations the undesirable colors, the two-tone models, or full precious metal models. Rolex does not produce what the public wants, and wether it's Rolex, the AD or ROLEX in cahoots with the AD: chanigng this would be so simple. But at the same time cost Rolex a fortune. Because: who would still buy that weird color two-tone rolex on which the margins are exponentially bigger than any steel model if all steel models are available at retail? it's a high-stakjes poker game: the entry fee is multiple times the cost of that one watch you want. But you have to loose a few rounds first: buy makes and models you don't want, and then maybe will come the day you will be considered. I don't even think it legal to do business like that...
