In 72 hours, @Pidi_meg is scheduled to participate in the HYROX race in Bordeaux with @LeBouseuh! The problem is: since she resumed running to prepare for the event, she's developed significant pain inside her knee.

Bouzi called us urgently, and we entrusted the task to Simon, our knee specialist at Training Thérapie.

So the question is simple: can we improve her knee enough in 72 hours so she can participate in the HYROX in the best possible condition?

In this video, we'll take you with us through the entire consultation: interview, analysis of her return to running, clinical tests, diagnostic hypotheses, reproduction of symptoms, changes in symptoms, and the development of a very short-term plan for the three days leading up to the competition.

The goal is obviously not to claim to "fix" a knee in 72 hours.

The real challenge is understanding why Pidi is in pain, identifying the structures potentially involved, reducing her symptoms as much as possible, and providing her with a clear strategy leading up to the day of her HYROX.

In her case, several factors point to irritation in the pes anserinus region, likely exacerbated by a very rapid increase in her running load: Pidi went from virtually no running to several outings in just a few weeks, even going so far as to directly test the 8 km she will have to run during her HYROX.

We also show you why:

gradually increasing her training load is essential;

tendon pain is not simply "muscle soreness";

accurately reproducing the symptoms can help guide clinical reasoning;

certain foot, knee, and hip movements can alter the stresses;

complete rest is not always necessary;

and above all, why, 72 hours before a competition, is the goal no longer to become more trained… but to arrive as fresh and as symptom-free as possible?

Simon ultimately suggests a very simple plan for the following days: glute activation, isometric hamstring exercises, self-massage, and above all, a temporary reduction in running load.

Now, only one question remains:

Will his knee hold up during the HYROX? 👀

Also, tell us in the comments what you would have tried or suggested in this situation.
