Before President Snow became the ruler of Panem, he was Coriolanus Snow, an ambitious young man with a family name to restore, a Hunger Games tribute to mentor, and plenty of chances to choose a different path.

This week on Psyber Conversations, we’re breaking down The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.

Was Snow already a villain from the beginning, or did we actually watch him become one? Did he truly love Lucy Gray, or was she always another piece in his climb back to the top? And what exactly happened to Lucy Gray after that final confrontation in the woods?

We also get into Rachel Zegler’s performance as Lucy Gray, Viola Davis as Dr. Gaul, Peter Dinklage as Dean Highbottom, the brutal early version of the Hunger Games, Sejanus and Snow’s betrayal, the origins of the Games, the book versus the movie, and how this prequel changes the way we look at President Snow throughout the original Hunger Games movies.

Plus, somehow Star Wars, Star Trek, Rosie O’Donnell, Tom Selleck, paste eating, and several questionable casting suggestions make their way into the conversation.

Because apparently staying on topic was never part of the Hunger Games.

Love, Lies and Lucy Gray.

Watch the full discussion, then tell us in the comments:

Did Snow really love Lucy Gray?

Do you think Lucy Gray survived?

And at what point do you think Coriolanus Snow truly became President Snow?
