Sounds to me that what is needed for a 'good dog" is the same as for  a 'good child'. My dogs have always been treated with the same love and respect as my children and they have all been delightful to be around.
Rest. Teaching.  Exercise. Mental stimulating. Free play. Socialising. All important for kids and dogs.😊

"Absolutely amazing, Tom Davis! 🔥 This video is truly a valuable 'wake-up call' for anyone raising a pup but unintentionally overlooking their core needs 🐶❤.

I am extremely impressed by the 7 seemingly simple yet vital things Tom shared: mental stimulation instead of just physical exercise, allowing them to sniff freely on walks, establishing structured routines, protecting their 12–14 hours of sleep, giving 100% undivided attention without phones, keeping up daily mini-training sessions, and providing safe outlets for natural instincts instead of banning them 🧠✨. These practical, candid, and heartfelt tips truly change the way we understand our four-legged friends 💡🐾.

Thank you, Tom, for such a practical and profound content. Wishing the channel continued brilliant success and spreading even more wonderful value! 🚀💯"

My dog trainer used to have us place small treats along the baseboard of our house. On rainy days, our dog would search the house smelling for the treats. It was a hide and seek game that used to tire her out mentally.

Hi Tom I'm a new subscriber from England, 71 years old and about to take on my 9th German shepherd from a local rescue. I am absolutely loving your videos and training methods,  you use the same type of training that I've been using with each of my dogs for the last 50 years, the only thing I've never been able to use is the E color or prong they are banned here but i really do agree with you that the E color would have been a great tool for my off leash work on saying that I've been very lucky with my dogs on recall all but one and she could only go loose in a fenced safe area or be out on a long line. I'm hopeful going to be able to bring my new boy home in a couple of weeks he's 7 years old and was put into rescue by his owner because of reaction issues I'm working through things with him at the kennels and he's doing really well. Thank you for your videos and podcasts you're a wonderful person and trainer.

Nailing all 7! Thanks for your content!

A little bit of training each day outside a walk needs to be added into my dogs' routine!

My dog apparently needs to do all of it: dig, point, chase, run, chew and guard. LOL It's a Brittany, but I knew what I was getting. Best dog breed!

Thanks Tom! Very helpful information. Lots I didn't know. Makes perfect sense 👌

Great information as always!  I have 3 dogs, a Great Dane, a Pyrenees/Doberman mix (rescue) and a Pit/Blue Heeler mix (also rescue).  3 different breeds of different ages but they all are on the same daily schedule of walks, treats, feeding times, "pee-mail" excursions, etc.  They are trained well enough to go to Lowe's, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, etc. without incident and those trips are very special to them.  Just spending time with them is the highlight of my day!

great video Tom, all 7 are golden, somehow I got all 7 covered with my dog

A calm happy 🐶, is a calm happy life...
Thank you Tom & Staff

This is so very true, working in a veterinary hospital we see this all the time  a  pet owner comes in and Says pet is going crazy and they want meds to calm their pet we educate the Client  with. Basically what you have shared in this video. Another great informative video Thanks

I got a tip of a dog sitter once. Chop up a sausage and hide the peices around the house and garden. Then release the pups " Sausage Hunt", they will keep hunting long after the last piece is found.

Thank you

👍👍 Thanks, really appreciate the video.

It's always motivating to see training that focuses on building confidence, trust, and good habits. Videos like this encourage more owners to seek professional guidance, and businesses like World Class K-9 help reinforce those same values.

I can’t tell you how much I love the quote “I’m telling you what you need to hear, not necessarily what you want to hear”.   I believe this to be super important. My 7mo GSD had been strictly command trained for teaching behavior until I started training through play, and she went from starting to be reactive to so much better.  Structured play with tug and training mixed in has really started to transform her from being mouthy and insecure to much more pleasant. The trust I’m
Building with her has made all the difference.

I'm nailing at least a few of my pups natural instincts. We have designated places in my yard for her to dig. We play tug of war for on average 2 hours a day. I let her sniff on my terms on walks too. Overall I'm doing pretty good with her, I think. She's my first small dog and I do find her more stubborn and bossy than my big dog. I've always tried to meet my dogs halfway but I was told by another chiweenie mama that I shouldn't do that. So now I'm doing all of my pups care and attention on my terms and things I think are going a little better

👍🏼 Great channel. At least 2 people have told me about this channel. It's so great 👍🏼!!!

For me the biggest challenge is balancing the play-time. My 7year old BC could go on playing fetch forever (or any game really), especially together with my son (they are the best teammates😍). My 11year old BC however thinks she is still a puppy, but feels the pain afterwards when we let her play for too long 😖 search-games are better for her body, but yeah, she still loves to run…
Do your kids get playtime together with your dogs and how do you balance the needs of your two dogs at the same time when one of them gets older?

Thanks, Tom
