'Love Is The Devil' (1998), movie about Bacon with Daniel Graig and Derek Jacobi. Absolute masterpiece.

There is about 20+ minutes missing from the original, and I recommend watching the original. It is on the Internet Archive. It goes into high quality detail about

For example: the B/W picture of Bacon at 2:49 with his face in half shadow sitting beside a curly haired dude, that section appears a whole 4 minutes, 15 seconds later in the original.

Maybe controversial, but I’ve always wondered whether Francis had something to do with Dyer’s death. Psychologically, that possibility feels more convincing to me than the story about an Arab man with “smelly feet.”

Francis could be brutal, self-destructive, masochistic and violent, while Dyer seems to have been much softer, more vulnerable, and less equipped to survive that kind of emotional intensity. Of course, this is speculation, but it does raise a darker question: was Dyer destroyed by the world around Francis, or partly by Francis himself?
