Welcome back to Truck Care TV! Today we have an intense episode featuring a major breakdown and a difficult recovery mission in the heart of the mountains. Our Massey Ferguson 375 tractor suffered a catastrophic rear-end failure while working near the rock crushing plant. This is the full story of how we recovered, diagnosed, and repaired this heavy-duty machine.
The Crisis in the Mountains
While navigating the steep and rocky mountain paths, the driver felt the rear end of the MF 375 seize up instantly. To prevent the transmission from exploding, the driver immediately shut down the engine. The tractor was stuck on a dangerous incline, blocking the transport route.
Field Diagnosis & Recovery Strategy
Our mechanic team arrived with a mobile service kit. First, we used a Heavy-Duty Hydraulic Jack to lift the rear axle. By spinning the tire by hand, we confirmed the internal differential was completely jammed.
The Tow: Since the tractor couldn't move under its own power, we brought in another powerful tractor.
The Maneuver: We attached high-tensile steel tow chains and performed a tandem pull, dragging the jammed MF 375 up the steep "Chadhai" all the way to our mountain workshop. It was a test of pure torque and driver skill.
The Mechanical Teardown (ASMR Experience)
Once in the workshop, the real work began. In this video, you will hear the satisfying Mechanical ASMR sounds of:
The rhythmic clicking of the Ratchet and Sockets.
The impact of the Heavy Hammer and Brass Drift to loosen the housing.
The sound of 45+ liters of old oil draining.
The "clink" of broken metal shards being removed from the casing.
Inside the Differential: The Damage
Upon removing the rear "Tapa" (Differential Cover), we discovered a total mess.
Pinion Bearings: Both the inner and outer bearings were completely shattered.
Pinion Check-Nut: The main locking nut had backed off due to the bearing failure.
Crown-Wheel (Complain) Lock: The lock had snapped, allowing the gears to lose alignment and jam the entire axle.
The Precision Repair
We cleaned the entire housing to ensure no metal flakes remained. We then installed:
Brand New High-Grade Pinion Bearings for smooth rotation.
New Pinion Lock Nut (Check-nut) torqued to factory specs.
New Crown-Wheel (Complain) Locks to secure the assembly.
High-Temp Silicone Sealant to ensure a 100% leak-proof seal.
Technical Specs & Fluid Management
After reassembling the rear end, we refilled the system.
Oil Type: Heavy-duty Transmission/Hydraulic Fluid.
Capacity: This Massey Ferguson 375 requires 45 to 48 Liters for a full refill of the rear housing and hydraulic system.
Tools Used in this Video:
Hydraulic Floor Jacks (10-Ton)
Impact Wrenches & Socket Sets (24mm to 36mm)
Heavy Sledgehammers & Punches
Steel Towing Chains
Cleaning Solvents & Precision Sealants
The tractor is now back to its original condition, shifting smoothly and ready to haul rocks from the mining site again!
