On this competitive warhammer 40000 breakdown for the warhammer 11th edition, I'm going over the "Take and Hold" disposition. We'll discuss various tactics for this disposition and review its viability for different armies. Based on early tabletop gaming experiences, I believe this disposition will be less common.

Great breakdown, it seems like fast, brutal armies are going to be gunning for your natural expanse from the get, which would put most on the back foot from the get. Also, with the new layouts, there is all the room in the world for back-line deep strikes. So fast MSU and deepstrike and aggressive play are gonna be pretty hype.

The most common disposition for my Tyranids has take and hold. It's the majority of our detachments. With that in mind I'm eying this video hard to see what I can do about that.

My early Cerimite Sentinel list is gonna try this with a combination of transport tanks, Gravis and Terminators. Very excited for cheap LC Assault Marines with a Librarian and Ancient backing them up.

For mission 3, its own all at round 5, it checks at the end of the turn.

So round 2-4, owning your expansion is 5 pts (15 pts), and fighting control over center for 3pts at end of turn. then round 5 go super agressive and hold 3/4, scoring an extra 15 pts

@12:16 You might want to review the first part of Determined Aquisition: Holding your natural for 5 turns doesn't grant 10 points as this rewards capturing (new) objectives.

Points are great to see potential, my only suggestion is to review the mission its going up against so you dont tunnel vision and get pushed around. It will greatly gelp list building if you start to discuss pieces to deny scoring, which is just as important.

My Liberator Assault Group main is Take and Hold, I think it will play a very different threat projection / harassment/ MSU flavor. Hopefully both are viable

You can flip take and hold on its head and use brutal melee armies to own the hell out of the midboard. EC do a decent job of this.

I think with Take and Hold that Pychomancers might see more play. Could be a nice way to turn off OC with out much risk

I played T&H into purge yesterday, did really well even with cursed legion what I thought would be better using purge. I need to test out the other dispositions

For Kroot Hunting Pach this Force is very strong. My list have 162 Models and I could bring a big unit back. Lot of bodys, live points and OC so I dominate the first 3 rounds saftly and the last two rounds I must look what is alive and work with this things

Great video! I'd love to see some sample lists or list archetypes that you think would work well for each disposition. There's a lot of space marine characters who give extra OC to specific unit types (e.g., Lysander for terminators, Feirros for heavy intercessors); they seem like a natural starting point for T&H.

League of Votann should do well with this play style, due to their core army rule which gives them bonuses when the enemy is on objective with hostile acquisition or when they're on the objective with fortify takeover.

I want to try this with Dark Angels using the Wrath of the Rock detachment if able. Use 2 squads of Inner Circle Companions, one led by Azrael and the other led by a Librarian so both squads get a 4+Invsv. If they keep their ability, ICC would also be -2 to hit in terrain, -1BS for cover and -1 to hit from their ability. I'd pair this with the Dark Age Arsenal detachment for extra plasma strength and range, and use Hellblasters and Black Knights for offense. I'd go with Scouts for secondaries, and if points allow maybe a squad or two of Intercessors just to flip the center objective when needed

Im a Space Wolves player, so im kinda pushed into Take and hold. Planning on starting with big blocks of terminators with Saga of Great wolf along with saga and song. Will most likely fill out the list with strong shooting options and see how things look after that! Exciting times for sure!
