The conductor of the orchestra is Lea’s younger brother, Gerard.

Regine Velasquez herself has once said Lea has the perfect pitch while considered herself to be just of relative pitch.
“Perfect pitch means you can pluck an existing note out of the air and sing it in tune very accurately, while relative pitch means that a singer could hear an existing note and then use it as a reference point for every other note they sing.”

Shes a perfect storyteller only few could make the way she delivered that feeling

Fun fact...The conductor here is Gerard Salonga, lea's Brother. Her is a graduate in Bachelor of Arts from Ateneo, and proceeded to study in Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts where he graduated summa cum laude and received Berklee's Contemporary Writing and Production Achievement Award. Gerard worked briefly at Sony Pictures as an orchestrator and music copyist before returning to the Philippines in 1999. He is the musical director of ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra.

I'm sorry but Eva Peron was never a president of Argentina. She died as the First Lady. Just saying. Love this song.

Lea Salonga Broadway Diva.
Perfect Pitch
Pride of the Philippines 🇵🇭 🇵🇭

I'm not sure if my memory is correct, but this song was done while the character was on a balcony overlooking her people. That's why Lea kept looking away, as if she is imagining the multitude in front of her.

I think Lea wanted to play the role of Evita after her stint on Ms. Saigon, but then she was offered the role of Eponine/Fantine in Les Miserables.

One of broadway's finest! Truly a queen.

Evita is from grassroots but she hungered for change in the social system at a young age. She worked her way up and became a first lady. She was loved by all especially the grassroots. But she eventually died of Cancer. She made that speech to bid her farewell to Argentina. And the country mourned for her passing.

I hope you will find CHARICE next time
One of the pride of the phils.
Her rendition of ALL BY MYSELF  will blown you away

I hope you could react to her version of Still Hurting (rehearsal)

Evita Peron was sick that time. His husband Juan Peron became their president because of her. Shes charming and people loved her so much. She's gone through difficult times during her younger days that's why people can relate to her. Watch the movie..a musical movie. Superb.

Lea is a gift to the world! She always tells the story through her song. I can see you both  so affected, like me. Thank God for moments like these.  Videos allow us to enjoy these moments again and again. Fresh reactions add spice to it though. Again, appreciate ur reactions to this. Thank you W and E! 😍

The conductor of the orchestra is his younger brother.

Beautiful. Lea is a legend!   In the movie, Madonna played Evita Peron.  Your comments are very informative. Thank you for that and more...

Actually, this was a movie with madonna. She played Evita /Eva Peron.

Lea is singing one of the most if not the most well known song from the musical Evita. It debuted on Broadway where Patti Lupone won her first Tony award. Eva Perón was as polarizing today as she was when she was the wife of the notoriously corrupt president Juan Perón. She was singing from the presidential balcony as an apology and farewell when she realized she was dying.

Please do react to Lea's take of Via Dolorosa with the soldiers as backup choir.
