I'm guessing you've never seen the original TV series with James Garner as Maverick, they were just as fun as this movie .

James Garner, who played Cooper, originated the role of Maverick in the 60s TV series.

Casting James Garner was genius.  Not just some cameo like orther films do.
A fun watch.

Written by William Goldman, who also wrote BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID and THE PRINCESS BRIDE

The Danny Glover addition with the Lethal Weapon sound in the background when they are staring at each other......genius

This was (anachronisticly) the “Galaxy Quest” for westerns, a movie that honored and embraced the genre it was also mocking.

Sad to hear you're gradually ending the channel. I enjoy your reactions since the beginning, I'll definitely remember some of your beautiful shocked faces we've encountered during this journey, and your calm and collected clever commentary, your slow, proper, articulated speach and mostly your genuine personality. Hope we can somehow get to see some occasional new content even after those old/new reactions you've mentioned end, even if the channel isn't properly active with a schedule. Maybe even not reactions but some other stuff you want to share or talk about, I don't know. Either way, I genuinely wish you the best for whatever chapter or chapters you're approaching in the future. I wish I could shake your hand and maybe take a selfie together, it will never happen because I'm half a world away but you should know you've brought some valuable companionship, some comfort and some escapism at hard times and some classy entertainment and laughs in better times reaching those distances through our screens and more importantly through your sincerity. Thank you.

James garner played the original maverick

The first guy to get thrown off the riverboat was Clint Black - the guy who sang "A Good Run of Bad Luck".

What really moves this movie from good to great is all the former western TV star cameos that they build into this. The downside is, if you don’t have that background of seeing those old TV westerns, you miss that bit of delight that’s created by well done cameos. Stagecoach driver alone is pretty special.

The danny glover scene is my favorite part to a enjoyable movie

underrated movie, good fun and a great cast.

James garner who played coop in this was the original Brett maverick in the series.

They filmed the Indian scene in Yosemite.  You can see Half Dome in the background.

The Danny Glover cameo was awesome, this movies director Richard Donner directed the Lethal Weapon films.

Sad to hear the channel as we have known it is ending. It has been a very enjoyable journey here with you. The movie reactions, books, mailbag episodes, and discussions of the Atlanta Braves. Thanks for being a comforting presence and cordial personality. Loved watching along with you and listening to your incisive commentary. Not a goodbye since you are still going to be posting content, but wish you the best always.

Yes. Someone watching one of my favorites. Glad you enjoyed it.

This movie is so good.  Can always rewatch it.

The theme of Lethal Weapon when he meets Glover <3

A rewatchable movie if there ever was one
