This week, I made a diorama of a work of art by Hardy Fowler. He made the painting for the official Guidebook of the WIW RPG.

To get your hands on a digital copy of the game, watch for it at Runefoundry.com

Check out Hardy’s channel here: ‪@fowlerillus‬

This is the chillist channel about the most horrifying things you could encounter.

It would be incredible if the Wild Imaginary West were transformed into a video game, allowing us to delve into the creations of Boylei and discover his diorama masterpieces scattered across the world.

Fun fact. You dont get tetanus from rust. You get it from bacteria that grows on stuff that's old. You generally only have to worry about it, if that old thing pierces your skin. Things that are rusty, just tend to be old and can have the bacteria.

Have you ever considered doing a giant beaver diorama? I feel like it might fit nicely into the WIW theme

I actually wrote (what was basically) a Wild Imaginary West fanfiction about monster hunters on a refitted steamboat witnessing a battle between a giant alligator and a giant snapping turtle

In regards to your comment about human fragility (more specifically in the Sierras), I’d really recommend to you my favorite nonfiction book of all time. The Indifferent Stars Above. It’s about the Donner party so it’s pretty grizzly, but there’s a lot about the logistics and surviving when attempting to settle “out West”, which I’m sure you’d enjoy.

As always, sick build! I need to get into kit bashing

Imagine an old prospector using the hollowed out shell of a big snapping turtle as the roof for a makeshift cabin. Like how in Monster Hunter people use monster parts to build ships and such.

Hello Mr Boylei. I wanna stop and say thank you for getting me into the hobby of building dioramas. They aren’t as good as yours but I’m proud of the few that are good some did flop. I’m currently making a abandoned barn in the woods

We grew up catching these when I was a kid (fortunately, only the regular sized ones) and they are frigging terrifying. Their necks are so long and articulated they can reach halfway behind them along their shell, so even grabbing them to try and move them is dangerous.

Quite a few people I knew when I was younger were missing part of or all of a finger because an alligator snapping turtle snapped it off.

Your imagination and modeling skills always make your videos - especially those of the Wild Imaginary West - something to look forward to at the end of a long week. That said, please don't feel pressured to 'rush' a project on our account. Any project you present to us is always well-worth the wait!

Thanks, Boylei!

I would like to point out that it's not the rust that gives you tetanus, it's bacteria. Specifically, the kind that grows quite well in horse droppings.

Absolutely love your channel - so talented!!

You might enjoy working with the bobbit worm. It's terrifying. It would be a great monster for a diorama. It looks incredibly alien and dangerous and it's a niche enough creature that most people won't know what it is.

Love the official soundtrack in the background

Your tetanus story reminded me I have much to be thankful for! And among those things I am thankful for is Boylei Hobby Time ❤.
This build beautifully captures the WIW drawing you showed at the beginning. Thank you.

I actually own an Alligator Snapping Turtle named Maastricht. We call him Moss for short. He's named after the city in The Netherlands where the mosasaurus fossils were discovered but it's also the site of the oldest chelonian fossils. As soon as my family saw your new post everybody got excited and shouted "It's Moss!" We love our little (not really little) monster. We routinely watch your videos together on Sundays but this one felt special to us.
