i thought just lowering the sensor gain makes for longer exposure and there we have it but maybe not that simple
Yeah the Red Record Button can be reprogrammed to many functions. The Fn buttons can of course be reprogrammed but we are not always presented with the same available selections of functions. The Red Record Button confused me at first because it was set to Hi-Res by default, but when the mode dial is twiddled to Movie it becomes the pukka Red Record Button, cool. Your Movie settings remain fixed as you set them, we always want a different setup to shooting stills. This is great, I don't have to reprogram the camera when I want to shoot a video clip. The Ollie wireless remote RM-WR1/RM-WR2 can fire up stills shutter or start/stop movies from any shooting mode, very handy, beats setting some delay or fiddling with a phone.
The OM-1/OM1ii does not have a CP button but it is Menu "Camera2", and we have more stuff there. We can quickly reassign a Fn button on the fly through the SCP, or save regularly used functions to Menu "My".
The only must-have physical filter is the CPL, this simply cannot be done in the camera or in post. Other physical filters are optional as to your liking. All those B&W mono filters, we have them in the camera. Now we have ND, GND, Live-ND and so-on too.
