"You can buy one down at the iron mongers" "I can feel it in me waters" "Two fits like that'd kill a horse" There's as many good expressions as there are tips in this one
I used to have every number including the halves of these wooden planes. My boss wanted to buy the collection off me and offered me £2000. This was in 1981. I said no . Even though the money was over 8 months wages . I could have done with the money at the time as I was just a teenager. I didn't sell because my grandparents gifted the lot to me as he worked in Bosher builders of Wallingford during the 60s. My grandad died the day after his retirement. I lost the lot when my workshop I leased years later. The electric meter pulled from the wall and set alight the straw roof. Only my machines were insured.
Uncle Jim, what an absolute pleasure and joy to watch you .Jim you have just given me the motivation to get back to my bench and shop. Rgds Bill in Galway 🇮🇪
