Least we forget,we must not forget the lp from another planet far ahead of its time.

And Carl Perkins

Andy Warhol may have been a "noted" artist among the New York crowd, but that doesn't mean he was a "popular" one everywhere else. So his name associated with an album, (whenever I went into a record store that displayed the cover, all I saw was something with a picture of a banana... I had NO idea who the artist(s) were or even that it was associated with Warhol, a name that meant nothing to me), wouldn't lure the allowance away from a typical pre-teen or even teenager... rock's major demographic back then.
And I still say that perhaps one of the reasons that 'Pet Sounds" didn't sell that well in the states (it was more popular in Great Britain) was the atrocious album cover!
