ooh kicking it off with Doodle God is super interesting to me because I am very aware that the game series experienced a depressing downfall and so seeing it in a trash game compilation really speaks to me about how hard it fell

Just an FYI, Doodle God actually started off as a free Flash game back in the day, before being ported to mobile.

Avoiding the ghost in the laundromat game is actually easier than running around the parking lot. You can literally just stand on the curb down the street and the ghost will have to walk the entire length around to reach you. Step off when it eventually completes the trek, step back on, repeat.

Somehow the most effective way to survive a haunting is standing still on the side of the road. Thrilling stuff right there.

Afaik the Dev of Vampire Survivors previously worked in the Gambling Industry and they used that knowledge and insight to create a fun and addicting game without any predatory mechanics.
That's why so many clones fall flat.

19:34 “It’s just antithetical to the ideology of a sick ramp” is perhaps the best script writing I have ever heard

I was there, Gandalf. Five thousand years ago, when Doodle God was a nifty flash title on Kongregate and Armor Games.
Also, is Outpost 13 just "The Visitor"? Huh. Good to see the flash game vibe hasn't truly died.

I feel bad for Tokyo Psychodemic being here; it’s got issues, sure, but I’m still having fun with it. Given some of the other trash floating around Steam that’s either praised or ignored, dumping on a game that’s a pretty solid 6.5 or 7 with some interesting and innovative ideas feels decidedly scummy. But, eh, Steam reviewers, what can ya do, right?

Little addition to in the middle, didn't play it but saw a video on it. As mutch as that dude did, you are supposed to use the soap bottles from the shelf in your "office" to stop the levitating laundromat.

If you are fast enough the ghost won't haunt you.

Every night an additional laundromat gets possessed, so presumably the goal is to finish the night, they all get posessed.

It still was incredibly repetitive to watch so not mutch in your assessment would change.

My friend, Doodle God was a free to play game on armorgames and newgrounds. The problem with it as a Paid game is its very limited gaming experience. So it is no suprise that the games were mostly free, then turned into a app game, then doing it on steam. It's not a bad 'game' and really has next to no replay value once you have played it. And they just copy paste it since there are tons of kids with credit cards.

Love your content, but just wanted to say that one of the kickstarter pictures you shared for Outpost 13 says its funding was unsuccesful - so they wouldn't have recieved that initial amount of money. Probably why they relaunched and had a second one.

You talked about all of the little details that make Vampire Survivors so addictive, and that's no fluke: The developer previously developed slots machines for casinos.

"A biker and maybe a bit crazy 😈" i swear killed me lmafo

Tokyo Psychodemic looks really cool. I hope the developers continue to improve and make more games because this game seemed to have a lot of potential

I might be stupid (like 99% chance) but i just see doodle god as worse Little Alchemy 2

"The point" of "in the Middle" is clearly to be a ripoff of "Chilla's Art"'s "The Convenience Store" or others he has made in the same vein like "The Closing Shift".  Chilla's Art is an indie Japanese horror dev whose very simple games have sort of reached cult status and have 2500+ reviews for a $3 game while skyrocketing most of what he has made to immense popularity.  It's the exact same concept (You work the closing shift in first person for some sort of business, you have to do mundane stuff for a while and then after it closes you have spooky scary stuff that happens) except supposedly (I haven't played it myself) it's pretty good and worth the $3 if you like simple horror games?

You could maybe give it a play and see if I am right about it being a ripoff, and you might even be able to contrast to articulate what this guy did wrong.  The fact he is mystified why it isn't doing well shows he has no real understanding of what makes that type of game fun.

Doodle God seems to be the reason why Infinite Craft exists.

I'm proud of you for never giving up, son.

16:35 No, that is not ridiculous. A game shouldn't force you to play before you can get to the options.
It's one of these small things that can make a game annoying.
Similar to being unable to turn off motion blur or a lack of proper key remapping and mouse/stick sensitivity settings.

I bought Widget Inc based off of your last video you made of these and Im loving it. Thank you for introducing me to that game even though it wasn't one of the "10" games covered. i think you could bring a lot of value to this series by taking the "bad game" topic and comparing it to another similar "good game" in the genre. Just as long as the good game isnt like...already a massively successful example that everyone knows about.
