Eminem *“Lucifer”* reaction coming straight from the YouTube members section, and this was one of those tracks where I really didn’t have much to criticize.
From the beginning, Eminem was FLOATING.
I love when he gets straight to the point instead of making me wait forever for the record to develop, and even when I realized he technically was letting the beat build, it didn’t FEEL like it because his pocket was already working.
Then he just kept switching lanes.
Different flows. Different pockets. Different types of writing.
At one point I literally described it as reckless driving because he was jumping between styles that smoothly.
The Candace Owens section caught me completely off guard because I didn’t even know they had been going back and forth. Then he moves into the freedom-of-speech angle, the childhood trauma bars, more technical rhyme schemes, and finishes the record with that Lucifer / Antichrist production line.
That ending was HARD.
I initially thought the hook might be the one weakness, but even that started making more sense once I heard how Sly’s vocals worked almost like an extra ad-lib inside Eminem’s schemes.
So by the end?
I really didn’t have anything.
No “he should’ve done this.”
No “that verse needed that.”
No major critique.
*He hit every pocket.*
If the rest of the album sounds like this, I understand why everybody keeps telling me to review the whole thing.
