Mirabel's dad doesn't have "unlucky powers" only the people born into the family get gifts.

Nick sweetie I’m going to need you to sit down for this….its a MUSICAL. The songs in musicals are used as a device for exposition. 😂

The problem isn't that y'all talk a lot, it's that you miss the major exposition points in the beginning because you're talking too much then, and you spend the rest of the movie confused about what's happening and who's who. The talking is good. It adds to the movie. It's just frustrating to see a good movie not get enjoyed properly because you talked through the setup of the story.

You two not understanding how musicals work is wild to me

Mirabel doesn’t have a power per se but she basically is taking over as the next matriarch that looks over the family like Abuela, she keeps them all together and shows them it’s about strong family bonds instead of all the pressure abuela was putting on them that was breaking them apart.

I usually agree with you talking bc it’s a reaction, but I think the reason people say that to you is bc you talk SO much that you’re not listening. The first song is perfection and the best exposition song ever made, if you paid attention, you would have heard everything and understood it just fine. I love how they started it and changed up the music style in this movie. I do think talking is part of reacting and some people are over sensitive, but you still have to listen and pay attention….

You know making fun of everything and then get confused because you guys didn’t listen 😭😭

You need to start LISTENING to the movies you're watching.

Not Cory already understanding the metaphor for the cactus but saying it doesn’t make sense anyway 🤣🤣🤣

Not sure if you noticed, but Mirabel is the only one that casita directly responds to. She doesn't get an enchantment because she is the next matriarch of the house. She's kind of like a manager of the house and its powers. And frankly, I think she'll do a  better job at keeping the family together than Abuela.

Isabella was not singing because she formed a cactus. For the first time, she let something out from her heart to one of her family.

She just thought being perfect like her grandmother's wish will bring happiness but she starting feeling happy only after she went after her heart. That song is her realization.

Calling ‘the family madrigal’ bad exposition is…a take 😂

them skipping over the entire abuela flashback is nasty work lmfao

I think the reason why people say you guys talk alot is beacsue yall talk every sec and then dont know what happened 😅

if you actually pay attenion, encanto is literally one of the best disney animation ever made

Cory was onto something when he said she gets abuela’s gift which is basically to hold the house together and she had to do it all alone with triplets after losing her love so I wouldn’t blame her for being crotchety but blaming mirabel is when she needs to step back and reanalyze bc she doesn’t realize that she’s coming for her throne next lol

(21:20)
"do people who marry in get powers?"
it was explained in the exposition that you guys were talking through (commenting on the guy's sausage fingers, instead of hearing him say that he was the first member of the family with no powers, because he married in).

Fun fact: Mirabel is the first ever female Main character with glasses....it only took 84 years for Disney to do this lol

Every time a reactor is told they talk too much they say, "If you want to watch the movie, just watch the movie." They don't get that it isn't that WE want to watch the movie. It's that we want THEM to watch it. I can't count the reactions I have watched in which some talked over an important line and spent the rest of the movie asking a question. Like, for example, "Why doesn't he just call her?! He's so stupid." He lost the number. He said so while you were telling us about who he reminded you of. Don't know if this applies here (I heeded the warning and didn't watch), but I'm just saying that I think that's usually what people are worried about when they say that.
