Starting my XE Mosquito for the 1st time. Safety check. Inspection. Probably a first for our street. Started 1st go after sitting in storage for a few months. Can't wait to Take Her up soon ( not from my front yard though :) ). I love Mosquito Helicopters !

My mosquito has a 500 cc twin cylinder out of an artic cat snow mobile it produced 60 hp when I first got it without expansion pipes once I put the expansion horn on and i flipped the reeds upside down it had to be making close to 80 85 now I used that motor because it had nickel cylinders and I ran it with 100 octane unleaded at 40:1 using non synthetic valvoline outboard two cycle oil and I ran it with only cylinder temp gauge and I just ran it rich at ground that way when I got up over 2000 feet it wouldn’t lean out to much and run hot I put almost 280 hours on it before I opened the top end ball honed the cylinders put some rings on the pistons new plugs and it is out in my garage now runs great and has close to 600 hours total

Use red locktite on all those bolts you need a torque to heat the nuts and bolts up to take them off but they won't vibrate loose brother

Perhaps I just missed it are you able to start the engine using a electric starter while sitting inside the helicopter ?

Likely relatively safe? From a ME it appears like dozens of potential failure areas with zero secondary safety such as wire tied/cotter pins/lock tight? Again I’d bet the fly ability is relatively safe right up till it’s assumed safe let’s fly it.
