ok ok ok i want to suggest some books from like 1980-1996 by women authors that you might like more! these are just ones i myself have read and liked. some have some dated stuff, but not a lot or i wouldn't have enjoyed reading them either. some silly, some serious, some short, some long

- heartburn by nora ephron
- A is for alibi by sue grafton (has MANY sequels)
- beggars in spain by nancy kress (has sequels)
- rosie by anne lamott (has sequels)
- the magician's assistant by ann patchett
- housekeeping by marilynne robinson
- the stone diaries by carol shields
- the secret history by donna tartt
- the accidental tourist by anne tyler

Okay I'm pausing in advance and weighing in that I have never really liked an Alice Hoffman book very much despite reading 3 or 4.
