I absolutely loved quick n Silva

Master Blaster was incredible fun with the power ups!
I think there was an option to remove the permanent blocks from the map too, so in some games where all the bricks were destroyed, we'd end up with a blank map, speeding about the place dropping long lines of bombs with explosions that would stretch to almost the other side. Incredibly fun chaos!

Adventures of Quik & Silva is a nice mix of Giana and Turrican.

Quik and Silva was a brilliant game for the time and if I recall it was on the cover of Amiga Fun Magazine.

Hahaha, as a Swede, I thought I’d played a decent amount of coverdisc games, based on the fairly available magazines at the time. It turns out I’m merely a toothpick in the forrest compared to the homeland of Amiga mags. Out of these, ”Body blows” is the only one familiar. My, oh my, the delusion.

Good stuff! Transplant looks amazing.

A bit late now sorry but I loved the Clockwiser demo so much I went out and brought the game. One of my all time favourite puzzle games.

Thanks for having the filter off in your intro!

Master blaster was so so good. The power ups surpassed Bomberman in my view.

I hadn't heard of Merv The Merciless before, but it appears to be an updated version of Splat! which was on the 8-bit micros

Hey, I never heard of Merv the Merciless before, the gameplay is ripped straight from the ZX Spectrum game Splat! (that was recently covered by Kim Justice) but Merv adds a lot of charme to it - just played it for the first time and it is quite hard to put down. The music is also stupidly fun :D

Glad to see Quik and Silva on here! As a German gamer I've got a lot of nostalgia for it and I still occasionally fire it up when I'm in the mood for about 20 minutes of "Turrican-lite" - everything with a Huelsbeck soundtrack is worth playing for that reason alone.

Oh and fun fact: Quik and Silva was indeed, the first video game appearance of Sonic the Hedgehog in Europe, predating Sonic 1 on the Genesis by about a month ;)

Transplant reminds me of a game on the Acorn BBC called Starship Command which was was my second favorite game on that system (Elite being the first).

Thanks for mentioning Transplant, keep up the good work.

Body blows, so underrated

gosh, that Merv the Merciless seems like an infuriating but fun game.

I acquired an A600 in the mid 90's and out of the top 10, the only I got to play and enjoy was Quik and Silva at a friend's house a few years prior. But the A600 did come with quite a few coverdisks frrom various magazines and two I especially enjoyed were Blaster, which came with The One issue 57 (it was even used for an article in the same issue where they sent the game to publishers) and Ork Attack - The Return that appeared on The One issue 66.

They even enjoy a nice spot on my Pi5+ Recalbox setup.

Sense memory awakened by that "Aboo Yeah" from Super Foul Egg. I've suddenly got the urge to play it again.
EDIT: Sense memory 2 triggered by the audio from Master Blaster.

I had no tangible memory of these games otherwise. It's just the audio that jogged me back to the nineties.

Glad you enjoyed merv the merciless 😂😂 it is great fun even now

best coverdisk game was No Second Prize for me

Number 3 is remind of a game named "Splat" on the Spectrum. Sad the tune seens its a short few secs loop. but nice idea really.
