As for myself, 49 yo dude. They are inspiring to me. Their relentless energy makes me want to get up and take care of the things in my life I've been ignoring. Their love and positivity is something the world really needs, and their smiles are irresistible.
I love their story and they deserve all the success in the world. Going to see them in Austin a 4th time in 2 weeks.

See you at barrier! I'll be there at 8

Que tu prennes The warning, Band Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie, Koiai, Nek!, Lovebites : girls rule 😂🎉

Great video Leo , extremely fascinating survey , I've been a BBM fan for around 10 years , 68 years old and been a metalhead since early teens . For me BBM are truly unique , an absolute one off who have proved they can stand the test of time through sheer courage , determination , great work ethic and superb music and performance . I know there is an amazing dedicated team behind BBM but Su , Moa , Momo and Yui absolutely deserve the highest respect and accolades for their perseverance and achievements .  Love your videos and the new channel is great .

BABYMETAL is my favorite band🥰. The spread so much joy/happiness:goodvibes:.    🦊     🖖❤

For me, it is all about a great singer performing a wonderful song. That has remained unchanged ever since I first discovered rock music through Led Zeppelin so long ago. The reason I chose Babymetal is simply that everything about them evoked that same feeling in me.

Loved your video!!!  I discovered Babymetal in a Mojo top ten weirdest bands video in November 2018. I now have three of their records, went to 4 shows including the Intuit Dome show in Los Angeles, and will see them in a couple of weeks in St. Louis. I live in Kentucky. I mostly listen to Asian music now thanks to Babymetal. Here’s a link to that Mojo video.   https://youtu.be/H7E_ZqWUgFA?is=stk-8wwkomQ7GrJD

First of all, congrats on your video, your dedication to detail and approachability is to be commended.
I'd just like to point that some of the conclusions at which your poll arrives are, as you probably know, extremely biased to the english-speaking fan community. Outside of that little sphere, the fans over in latin america, south east asia, Russia and other places vary widely in the male/female ratio, their music preferences, their perceptions of them as idols, etc. Nothing wrong with your analysis of course, but do please make emphasis on the fact that it applies to only the minority of the fans in the english-speaking community.
Keep doing a great job!

oh I forgot I did that lmao, great vid :D

"THEY DON'T PLAY INSTRUMENTS" Uhh their bodies are the instruments. It is a high level skill what they do on stage, and the stage presence is so professional and unreal.

Missed the survey. 56-year-old from Malta. Listen to all kinds of music. Weirdly discovered Babymetal when Youtube recommended them while listening to Japanese experimental/noise music. Instantly hooked after listening to Megitsune in 2023.

Liked and subscribed.

2023 Babymetal Begins the other one was when Momo metal was announced as the new third number specifically at the end of Black Night. Also baby metal Begins the other is the 2023 Pia arena show

Why do I like Babymetal? First and foremost, the music. I enjoy the sound of heavy music, but I dislike the gloomy mood typical of heavy genres. Babymetal has a heavy sound, yet it isn't depressing and is easy to listen to. Also, I’m not a fan of raspy vocals, and I don't like traditional metal vocalists; that’s probably the main reason.

I’ve never been into Japan or its culture, so the fact that they are Japanese doesn't matter to me. Aside from Babymetal, I don't listen to anything from Japan, and I’ve never watched anime. In fact, I dislike anime and wouldn't watch it if you paid me.

Generally speaking, apart from Babymetal, I listen to EDM—trance, DNB, and the like. I don't listen to mainstream pop music either—or very rarely, at least.

A most excellent analysis Leo 🥰

At the Madison Square, Theatre last year I was standing near the front of the stage,  and there was what I thought was a couple being rather amorous. But occasionally the male would suddenly fall backwards and fell against me a few times.

I just thought the slamming into other people was rude behavior, but later I realized he was molesting different women who would push him away, causing him to fall on others. I really regret I didn’t realize what was going on at the time. It kind of haunts me.

Here's why

1. They piss off the purists (which is always a good thing)
2. The Kami band wrecks
3. The choreography
4. Sumetal, Moametal, Yuimetal and Momometal started as idols, which pisses off the purists (again, a good thing)
5. They're Japanese. That covers the spectrum from weebs to metalheads
6. The translated lyrics, especially the early songs, makes no sense to a non-Japanese. Or even to a Japanese (although this needs to be verified)
7. The band, manager and/or agency consciously veered away from the common path of sexualizing the girls. Contrary to what kpop and disney girls are doing
8. THE LIVE SHOWS!!!
9. They are literally an anime story waiting to be produced. C'mon Ufotable, Toei or Aniplex, this needs to happen!
10. There is a (continuing) Babymetal lore
11. Sumetal is a vocal beast
12. Moametal is is fun to watch. Yuimetal too when she was with the band
13. Momometal's discordant singing and growling confuses your brain (this is also a good thing)
14. Low-key, their costumes are lit

Lastly and most importantly, they may have started as a gimmick, Kobametal even admits that BUT they changed the genre. And that is metal as fuck

I like Babymetal because they're different. They aren't a cookie cutter metal band. The same reason that people hate them.

Let’s go!!! 🔥🦊🔥

Nice one, and a great analysis video! To me, BABYMETAL is 100% metal - Here is the evidence:

When Heavy Metal was becoming popular:

General Public: "This is not art! This is not how you do real music!"
Metal: "F U, I won't do what you tell me!"

When BABYMETAL was becoming popular:

Metal Elitists: "This is not metal! This is not how you do real metal music!"
BABYMETAL: "F U, I won't do what you tell me!"

BABYMETAL is metal - CONFIRMED ✅

🤘🦊

Missed this Survey. Would be happy to take it belatedly, though...Anyhow, the reason I loved them was I discovered them RANDOMLY while on leave during the Global War on Terror....The only in my life up to that time had been just hard, angry violent stuff...which they do use a BIT of in their break aways and choruse sometimes, but their debut of Doki Doki Morning then Give me Chocolate had me hooked after that. I'm 42 now and the girls are in the mid 20's...I feel that we've aged and grown together, me through the final days of the GWoT, ending in officially in '21- but concluded in reality in '23). I've been to 2 of their live show now... BabyDeth concert in Nashville in 2021 or so and the Austin show, while on active duty in 2017. I hope to see at least one more live show before Kobe starts swapping them out or me dying of cancer... Thanks for the video! "SEeeeeeee YOU!!~~"
