Every time I arrive at Kyoto Station, instead of taking a bus or the subway into the city, I walk.

This time, I also went up to the rooftop of the station, for the view over Kyoto Tower and the Toji Temple. Then I took the north exit, walked past one of the Gion Matsuri floats, and followed the little Takase River all the way into the city center. Walkways over the water, small bridges, and the sound of the current the whole time.
