With modern software we can add motion blur in certain scenarios. I’d rather get the shot than fiddle around with gear.

All that being said, being mindful of the light and getting the filter on there before you need it is probably best.

I agree that there's a lot of times a frame doesn't have enough motion to warrant a shutter speed slow enough for visible motion blur. Locked off shots and stabilized shots are probably good examples.  Where the 180 shutter rule also falls apart is above 60fps. I've found a shutter angle close to 360 gave me natural looking motion blur at 180fps. Shutter speed and angle dictate how much motion blur is in a shot. The 180 shutter rule really is more limited than it sounds and I think only applies to 24-30 fps.  Similar motion blur to 30fps 180 degress shutter at 60fps would be 360 degrees.
I also use webcams at 30fps and 1/30 shutter speed (360 shutter angle) because I find the exaggerated motion blur hides the fps difference when a 30fps webcam is on top of a 60fps recording. Different motion blur for different things.

I'm kinda with you I don't care about the shutter speed, only in extreme low light, and if you're at max ISO, you'll get the jitters, so unless you add light, then that's just a fact of life.

The point of this video changed 2/3 of the way in. The title of the video is Why Your Video Doesn't Look Cinematic  and then somewhere after the half way point it became you don't need to use the 180 rule and the big conclusion is the 180 rule doesn't always make your video look cinematic. I think your Hawaii shots are fantastic, but not very cinematic and I agree you that is okay. and if you are trying to capture something spontaneous with the 180 you will probably miss it, that is why films are so carefully planned out. I'd like to throw in some two cents about motion blur, motion blur is very undesirable for people like me and here is why. I'm in my 30s, my generation grew up gaming essentially, both in the real world and in the digital world - we had the best of both world's to grow and develop in. In every video game, it became mandatory default to disable "Motion Blur" because Motion Blur is very unpleasant in pro-longed environments. You can't game for pro-longed hours if you're constantly encountering motion blur, so every gamer by default disables motion blur for their video games.

I then started watching Action Camera reviews because I bought a bicycle and I want to film my rides, and everyone keeps promoting "Motion Blur" because it's "more realistic" - but that's not what I want. I know what my eyes like, and my eyes do not like motion blur. If Motion Blur is more similar to "real life", then that is the flaw of our Eyes as Humans is the motion blur aspect - if we can have technology remove the motion blur - then that's better for a viewers experience.
