One thing a lot of folks talk about is how the suits make you walk like you're a toddler, but that's only because none of them are using them to their full potential. We see later in the movie, with both Rita and Tom's character, how they practically fly around the battlefield, because they're familiar enough with the suits to know how to use them to their fullest extent.

Dies hundreds of times in this mecha-alien, time-traveller battle

Bear Grylls: "Ah that bring back good memories."

As it turns out, as this movie has shown us, you can make cool looking advanced weaponry and technology without slapping blue lights and holograms over everything

This movie has an endless rewatchability honestly. I watch it once a year

"There's something wrong with your suit. There's a dead guy in it!"
Says the guy who dies to one of the mimic grunts like a jackass.

Those powered exoskeletons make you walk like you've shit yourself...

This is what happens if you skip the tutorial

I loved pausing this movie during the battles to check out what hardware could be seen in the background (jets, helicopters, ground vehicles etc.).  The details put into these battle scenes were truly amazing.

One thing that I noticed in this scene was that every soldier had a unique set of armour depending on their role in the squad. Which is replicated in every single squad you see moving. I think it was a nice note of detail.

They say Tom Cruise did every stunt in this movie, including dying

what a badass

This is exactly how my father went to school in his childhood. Slightly better

Me: Hits replay button when I die.
What the character sees:

This dude is in a literal death loop during the sci-fi version of the D-Day.

10 Things I like about this movie:
1. It's D-Day with aliens. (Even came out June 6)
2. Rita's sword is a helicopter blade!
3. Tom Cruise plays a coward who turns into a badass, so much different than other roles of his.
4. ON YOUR FEET MAGGOT!
5. Bill Paxton's character.
6. J Squad
7. Cage and Rita's relationship.
8. Rita's nicknames. Angel of Verdun and Full Metal Bitch
9. The truck scene :D
10. THAT ENDING!

"There is no courage without fear."

Love that line!

if for some reason you STILL haven't seen this movie, see it because of emily blunt. what a versatile actress, she can do absolutely anything. In her first action flick, and this is deep dive action, she got amazingly ripped and what a badass she is. Fun fact - she was actually able to do the "yoga move" aka front planche and hold it for some time without assistance. Damn.

3:54 the flaming guy is me in every fps game

I remember when this movie came out, I had zero expectations because Tom’s a nut and I didn’t research it. Holy shit, this was an awesome movie.

Scientist: sir we have made a new mechanized battle suit that will improve strength and have advanced weaponry.

General: any down sides?

Scientist : yeah you can only go about two mph, and you look like you have to take a shit whenever you walk.

General: sounds great!

Such an amazing movie, wish this had waaay more hype than what it got. Just another banger for Tom Cruise
