Ranking EVERY Mystery Mushroom Costume in Super Mario Maker

Odyssey Central

Super Mario Maker 2 is better than the original Super Mario Maker on the wii u in almost every way. However, a LOT of people prefer the original for a few reasons, one of the most talked about being the mystery mushroom. This power-up would let Mario transform into other Mario characters or even characters in other franchises like Kirby, Sonic, Pokemon, Zelda, and so many more. Since so many people miss this power-up, I thought it would be fun to rank all 152 mystery mushroom costumes in the original Super Mario Maker along with their poses, victory music, and death jingles!

Shaun the Sheep being playable in a Mario game is such an elite trivia fact.

In Mario Maker 3, they should add a Batman mystery costume.

Fun fact, Greninja and Inkling Girl's amiibo costume order number (50 and 64) coincide with their Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter order number.

1:04:35 The pay off of this scene is insane 😭💔 Establishing the “bad” acting skills earlier in the video, having the DK sprite before it being completely normal and the rona whiplash and genuinely tearful delivery is peak cinema qwq

I remember the mystery mushroom costumes were the first time I ever saw Shulk as a kid, and I remember misreading his name and thinking "what the hell why does shrek look like that?"

14:09 This one's top-tier for me due to the endless applications it has for thematics. Anybody remember that Mission Impossible level?

To see Sonic the Hedgehog as Number 1 is so correct that I would love to see an actual crossover between Sonic and Mario and not just a sports game collection.

I was really big into reading manga when I was younger, and I was super into Nisekoi, so when Chitoge was added to Mario Maker it fucking blew my mind
I still have absolutely no idea why she was added, it's such a random series that has no more significance than any other anime, fucking Goku would have made more sense just based on popularity, but god did I still cherish playing as her
