My BMW Z3 Roof Is falling apart, the rear screen is opaque and it has a hole in it! Luckily I managed to replace it for just £75! I found a good condition replacement roof in a scrap yard that looked like it would be a drop in replacement. The only problem? I've never replaced a roof before, it can't be that hard right? Let's find out!

you should have focused on rodding the drain holes as well, as those are normally hard to reach! see 1:13

It apears to be a much easier job to swap the entire top for another as opposed to fitting new fabric.
The main concern I would have is how old is the "new" top?
