30 Days Of Night is the quintessential vampire movie. No pity here. Just monstrous vampires and a story that never lets you go for one second. If vampires exist, this is what they are like.

30 days of night is exactly how I'd imagine vampires to be if they were real.

Let The Right One In a Masterpiece with an ending that made me cry.

30 Days of Night is the best vampire movie I've personally watched.
The main vampire is a frightening character.

Roddy McDowall in the 80’s movie “Fright Night”. Chris Sarandon delivering the mocking line “welcome to Fright Night, for real” is why this is a classic in my eyes.

Just like they always do, you forgot to mention "The Night Stalker" (1972)
about a vampire loose in modern day Las Vegas. A true horror classic.

"You'll enjoy Mr. Barlow and he'll enjoy you." -- James Mason as "Richard Straker"

Salem's Lot was so good for a made for TV movie, miniseries, whatever you call it.

One movie you missed was Shadow of the Vampire, with Willem Dafoe as Max Schreck, the actor who played Count Orlok in the original Nosferatu. A great meta theme interwoven into anincredibly terrifying movie.

You missed one EPIC Vampire project.
THE STRAIN tv series.
Those are Vampires as a plague indeed.
Nothing sexy about them.
The "Master" is a Body Jumper too.
The worms that infect people can changes them. Creepy. Horrorific indeed.

Bill Paxton, in Near Dark, has the best line I have ever heard in a vampire film. Just before biting into the bartender’s neck, he growls, “I hate it when they ain’t shaved.”

Nosferatu 1922 is the one to start with.

You're right. Real vampires don't sparkle!

Never forget "Near Dark".

Stake Land is hands down my favorite vampire movie of all time. The vampires in that movie are legitimately scary.

No one ever mentions Priest with Paul Bettany and Karl Urban.

Salem's Lot "Kurt Barlow" is still the scariest Vampire bar none. He still scarys the SH*T out of me at 62 years of age. The way he just appears in that scene mabe me crap myself as a kid when I first watched it. No other Vampire movie has done that to me sense. Thanks for the list.

I was 9ish when Salems Lot first aired on TV.
I love horror films. I haven't seen a vampire movie like it since. It scared our entire neighborhood of kids. We were begging our parents to let our cousins sleep over because we just knew something was invading our community. I was afraid of windows for months. Yes, the windows themselves.
Those vampires were actual monsters. The vampires they created only resembled the humans they were. They not only destroyed your body savagely.... but first got inside your mind. "Loooooooooook aaat meeeeeeeee......" 😢
