It is Mr. Kim Jong-mun, who returned to the countryside to his wife Yang Hyun-mi's 60-year-old hometown house.

Stone walls built by the couple themselves, and flowers and trees planted and nurtured one by one.

Although they were once scolded by the neighborhood elders for planting flowers and trees instead of a vegetable garden,

it has now become a garden where villagers come to look around and rest.

The couple gave up city life and returned to their hometown.

Hoping that the house their parents cultivated throughout their lives would not go to waste,

they have been building new memories at their hometown house since 2015.

A house that has not been remodeled, preserving the original appearance from when his father built it himself.

My father, who was the village head, always had a steady stream of guests, and whenever he drank the night before, my mother would grind sesame seeds in a stone mortar every dawn to make sesame porridge.

The Seomjin River in front of our house, where the five siblings used to head together every summer.

I took out the work pants my mother used to wear and put them on.

From the sesame porridge my mother used to make for my father to the freshwater snail soup the five siblings used to gather around every summer—

When her welcome sons visit,

she even grills pork belly on the cast-iron lid my mother used for over 50 years,

creating new memories for the family at their hometown house.
