This is an extremely large amount of work. Please know at least one person thanks you for your effort in improving the Japanese learning process and making it easier to experience the work of artists as it was originally intended.

21:24 using that damn owl scene for the "listen" kanji was just diabolical Matt

As a linguist and now professional E⇔J translator in Tokyo, it really cannot be understated just how absolutely ambitious, thorough, and deeply informed all of this compiling and research project has become. Thank you for the analysis and I'll definitely be checking the google doc you linked!

If I may gently offer one critique, for the sake of early learners I would like to humbly request that when you read the vocabulary aloud in Japanese that you confirm which accent/intonation is native. It seems like you may have a tendency as a native English speaker (which I am assuming completely upon your accent and word choice) to default to a high→low intonation pattern, which does fall in line with native English speakers who often place emphasis on the second to last syllable in unknown/non-native words. It seems like most of your study materials are written and not aural, but if viewers of this video try to shadow you reading the words/sentences, they may unknowingly end up with non-native inflections further down the line in their language learning journey.
This is by no means any kind of attack on you as a person or your effort, language use, research methods, or passion for Japanese and gaming, I just thought that this would truly make this video as perfect as possible and may make those in the future just that much more impeccable m(_ _)m
And of course, feel free to ignore this message and not take my advice, since that's just all it is and I'm nobody :)

Thank you again!

just got the Anki deck and it’s the prettiest deck I’ve ever seen. You’ve outdone yourself once again my friend. What an incredible channel and resource

i have been watching this channel for awhile lurking but i gotta comment here. Ocarina of time contributed to me learning to read English which is my first language, I play it constantly even now. due to speedruns using jp it was and still is my highest exposure to the language since before i knew anything or even knew i would attempt to learn it.

this may very well become the most useful video on this site for me

I cannot thank you enough for this and all that you have done to teach Japanese. I am half Japanese and was born in Okinawa. I never learned Japanese growing up and now in my 40's I am learning all by myself.
I am between an N5 and N4 level. I have an advantage because I became fluent in Spanish learning on my own and knowing a second language already will help to learn others.
I am extremely limited on time because I have 2 young boys to take care of without additional support aside from my wife. But these videos are super helpful! I learn how the grammar is used in the dialogue shown and then attempt to make my own sentences using AI and other resources to verify its accuracy.

In short, 教えてくれてありがとう! 😊
