01:45 A Promise Kept After 20 Years

Hello. This is Sounding Bookmark.

Last Sunday night, upon hearing the news that Author Keigo Higashino had passed away, I couldn't believe it for a moment—was it really true?

When I belatedly learned that he had been battling colon cancer, that he quietly ended his life in the early hours of July 23rd, and that his funeral was held quietly as a private family service, I realized... that the author had shown us his presence solely through his works and his writing.

I have been consistently capturing and introducing Author Keigo Higashino's works as audiobooks.

Among the authors living in this era, he is a novelist in a genre I love so much. He has consistently captivated me intensely for over 30 years, starting from my 20s, and has kept me seeking out his works, so I felt a renewed sense of gratitude.

The works of author Keigo Higashino are special.

He did not stop at simply finding the culprit; instead, through criminal cases, he seemed to constantly question human loneliness, guilt, family love and sacrifice, as well as societal prejudice and ethics.

He was a precious author who, upon turning the last page, did not simply leave the reader thinking the case was over, but rather made them reflect on humanity once again.

In memory of author Keigo Higashino, I would like to read one of his short stories to you. #Audiobook #KeigoHigashino
