I like the fact that you disassemble a RC car to review it. This gives us a real insight in what we are buying, and your detail is second to none. This is why I subscribed to your channel. Thank you.

5B has two decades of support and aftermarket and will probably still be in production 10 years from now. The 5B is not just a car it's a platform you build a vehicle on.

Love my 5B and 5T. There's a reason they are still around after decades. Great video!

At the end of the day, the 5B is a proven platform that quite literally laid the foundation for modern 1/5 cars, it's the king of on road and sand drags and always will be.
The Sand Rail is sweet, but coming from an Xmaxx and XRT owner, there's nothing the sand rail will need outside of the usual performance upgrades and a wheelie bar, where cars like the Baja usually replace a lot of parts with upgraded carbon or aluminum.

Pretty cool video!
The Baja 5B has massive worldwide parks support.
And the crazy aftermarket parts for these things are pretty wild.

The gentleman that designed the 5B is same person that designed the Kyosho Ultima.  And if you look at it with that in mind you can see the resemblance.  So the design is much older than 25 years.  Rovan plastics and their 5B in general, got better with age.  The only aspects Rovan couldn't match HPI with, was the dampers.  I've had my 5B for eons, and after many hours of bashing, I went to HPI dampers and their chassis in gun metal grey.  I replaced the stock damper towers with metal units as well.  My 5B, the gas version went hard and very rarely broke.  Very happy with it.

My 5b is a 2 stroke and it's my favorite rc. It's not the fastest by any means, but it's fast enough to be a riot, and the sound is sweet!!!

The longer I have been in the hobby, the more weight I add to ease of maintenance so the Traxxas would win this specific battle for me.

By far the most thorough RC channel out there! Another great video 👏

I wasn't expecting this. 👏🏻 good stuff.  Awesome comparison.

They both look like a great time for sure. I love the quality information you present time and time again.

Loved the gas hpi bajas back in the day, nothing bets the sounds and the run times.

Thanks for doing the comparison gonna enjoy watching 🤘🍻

The phone mount is one of the main reasons I love my radiolink transmitter, also feels like u know exactly what a lot of us wanna see with this video idea excellent work as always

My favorite RC review channel showcases my favorite RC car? This is going to be good!

Thanks for this video. I was hoping someone would do this comparison 😊

Had the HPI 5b and the 5b SC with 2 stroke gas engines. They were so fun and sounded amazing. It was ok to keep running, compared a nitro RC. And the ease of just dumping more gas into them made for some really long run times.

This video randomly popped up on my YouTube feed. It reminded me of the 5t I have in a tote in the garage

Finally a gearbox that has more rc car than grease

Perfect, thank you! I've had mine in the box for a year and I am about to finally install the motor and electronics. Just what I needed, since the manual is so-so.
