RIP Toriyama-sensei! This one's for you. 🪦

"Fate really fucking hates our hero."
Yeah, that's the best summary of this game's plot.

Actually if you sleep at the inn at Bianca's hometown after getting married there is a small scene where it's hinted that they done the deed

Johnny in 2019: “I’m not looking at a Dragon Quest before Final Fantasy”
Johnny now:

Ah the Talk command, I remember once after the Son and Daughter joined, I was doing some Party Chat and the Daughter actually asked about these Marks on the Hero's Back... Implied to be Whip Scars from during his enslavement. Dark...

Fun fact: DQ5's Hero has the lowest Luck out of all Dragon Quest player characters

"Monsters are backup"

Homie didn't grab a Healslime asap and have it carry the team til the final boss lol

Something that I love about Dragon Quest V is the "You are the protagonist but NOT the legendary Hero"

At the start you do all the things a protagonist in every other RPG do, things that a kid couldn't do (Saving an entire castle and helping a Fairy Kingdom).

More events happens, and then you find the Sword of Zenithia. The legendary equipment you keep hearing about. You try to equip it and then: Nope.

You can't.

You are NOT the legendary Hero, and  the game opens up after that.

Just, precious, even more if you know about RPGs

“I’m not that much of a bottom, to lock down with her if you catch my drift.”

Oh my

your uncle sounds like a great guy johnny, it makes me smile everytime you mention him. you should make a video of stories about him and the games he introduced to you

Reading Nimzo's dialogue is even more of an eyesore when you actually know the Cyrillic alphabet. It's pretty hard to try and associate the letters with sounds that they just do not make.

I think the fact it's a family of heroes is really cool and I love it.

Debora is hilarious, she makes the hero sleep on the floor in his own castle and just generally treats him like shit for the rest of his life.

In the background of this review Ted is just cackling to himself the entire time

Oh Johnny, you poor bastard. It's in practical every Dragon Quest game.

You pick Bianca if you want Super Saiyans, you pick Deborah if you want vanilla Saiyans, you pick Nera if you want Evolved Super Saiyan Blues.

But Johnny, if you married Nira your kids could've been born as Super Saiyan God Blue!

Johnny reviewing Dragon Quest? And the one happening to be my favorite game of all time? Too good.

I still can't get over how smooth the sprite animations in DQ are.

Dragon Quest V is easily one of my favorites in the series.
