Let’s be real for a second: there were no heroes in this entire situation. Wilbur made terrible choices, but the way everyone instantly turned around and turned it into clout-chasing commentary drama proved everyone was in the wrong. The whole situation was just toxic top to bottom. 💀

the one truth that remains consistent is that we don't know who they truly are, at the end of the day, we only see their public personas. so i think it's stupid for the internet to get involved because we will never truly know the situation. if it really was abuse then that's an issue for police, not the internet

Innocent until proven guilty is my main ideology on these Internet or public problems. Even then these are PERSONAL issues, not public issues. This shouldn't have ever become such a public thing.

7:05 he looks more withered with each update 😭

okay but tbf, tommy didn't actually respond or say that he left wilbur, he actually stayed pretty damn silent the whole time, probably to not cause more drama than there already was

The Wilbur drama was so random honestly. Shelby comes out vague posting with no evidence. Wilbur admits he had become slobish and disrespectful at the end of their relationship. And then everyone just believed all the allegations despite no one actually knowing what happened behind the scenes.

Bro idk what to believe anymore it’s like choosing which parent to choose during a divorce.

Edit: DANG APPARENTLY MY THING WAS REALLY RELATABLE THO-

I understand that Will's response was bad, but you also have to remember: They had already solved the conflict themselves and went their separate ways before these allegations were even brought up. People were acting like Will was still actively hurting her.

And also (I could be wrong though), Wilbur was actively seeking help before the allegations came out. He was still doing what needed to be done following his conflict. I guarantee you that if he had just given a better response initially, basically none of this would have happened.

I don't think a bunch of strangers that can be easily manipulated by one side or the other should be the judges of what happened, we weren't even there. If you decide to keep supporting him, cool. If you don't, also cool. All we can really do is decide what content we want to consume

i remember this situation at that time. my opinion has stayed the same, i support and love shelby but she clearly shared something that shouldve been dealt with in private. she didnt lie but he also didnt abuse her. they saw the same thing in different lights and didnt fully communicate about it.

Unsure how i feel from the title but i will watch the entire thing js in case

I think we've seen a lot of situations in the past where victims, like, REAL victims wouldn't be heard, taken seriously, or stuff like that. This period of time is something important to remember, as to why Shelby's testament has been taken so seriously.
However, the questions raised here are also legitimately important to ask. This is why we have a judicial system, instead of relying on hearsay for throwing people in actual real jail.
At the end of the day, I don't think we actually have enough information to make a fully educated, and thus justified opinion on the matter. Granted this could simply be an abuser refusing to give us information so things can blow over and he can regain his career in time, as we know Wilbur is a very intelligent man. But, simultaneously, it could also simply be a habit of his that went too far. We don't know, and this is between Shelby and Wilbur.
I think advocating and listening to victims is indeed important: but statistically speaking, there is the possibility of some people using that to their advantage for petty reasons. Again, we don't know, and we don't have all the information to make a justified, fully educated opinion.

it annoys me so much when people act like they know these people in real life or how "the situation is obvious to them." none of us know these guys relationships but everyone wants to act so confident about it all the time.

“I wanna know what you guys think?”

It should’ve been handled off the internet and I’m staying neutral for this as in my book it’s innocent until proven guilty

I have read multiple comments and seen perspectives from both Wilbur’s side, the girl’s side, and neither. To me, this whole thing seems so weird because there truly was no real proof from either side. I cannot say if I am on one or the other at this moment because I just don’t have enough information.

It seems strange because Shelby only told her story once on a live stream, and I haven’t seen any other clips of her talking about it. I’ve seen some people talking about Nikki, but I haven’t seen anything from her personally. From Wilbur, I saw the big response, which to me seemed perfectly okay. It was for the internet; it wasn't the response I would be happy to receive as the victim, but as a bystander, it was plenty. It explained what he believed and that he wouldn't be talking about it too much.

I enjoyed Wilbur's content before all this, and I still to some degree enjoy it. It seems absolutely insane how his "friends" completely abandoned him, and yet from time to time, I hear them talking about him in an obvious way—saying he betrayed them and that he is a weird and disgusting guy.

I am not trying to make Shelby look bad. If what happened to her is truly real, then sure, let’s cancel him; I don’t care. But there hasn't been enough info. I was hoping this video would show something more, but sadly it didn't. The clip of Tubbo was the craziest to me; how he immediately went to talking shit about Wilbur without talking to him first is absolutely horrible. He said Wilbur's apology was bad, but what he did felt worse than the explanation Wilbur posted on Twitter.

This should have never been on the internet. If both parties had talked it through beforehand—if she had come to him and said, 'Hey man, what you did was actually fucked up'—this would be a completely different story. People would look at him differently; some would stop talking to him, but not everyone. The way every single creator just started to hate because everyone else was hating seems almost childish to me.

I don’t care if it’s Wilbur, Shelby, or Nikki; I just want and need more information before making up my mind. I am not watching any of them currently. Nikki and Shelby don't do the type of content I watch, and it feels weird to watch Wilbur's content now. I feel like if I am sitting somewhere and someone sees me watching him, I get flamed for no good reason.

I’ve seen crazy comments on both sides, and both seem insane because we just don't know what happened. He admitted to biting, and people act like that is the end of it, with no other context needed. He said he believed it was consensual at the time based on private messages, yet people just go and blame him. This feels similar to situations with other popular people where accusations are made, they go to court, and even if the victim was lying and nothing happened, the accused still gets flamed, hated on, and cancelled.

We need more information. I was hoping this video would give us that, but sadly, no. Still a great video.

What I find important also is that there are very few people supporting Shelby. They are not doing anything that would help her move on or feel better.

It is a lot more about judgement rather than 'supporting victims.' We do not know everything, nor are we perfect in our thoughts and reasoning. So why are we rendering judgement against a stranger? Not to say that you cannot be disappointed with or unsupportive against someone you think did something wrong, but to act on that?

This applies across the internet and online spaces... people get so caught up trying to prove their point, but it is automatically disproven when you look at their priorities.

Some people really think they can include themselves into problems that have no business in, have no relation with... its like people learnt to starve themselves for some drama with no consequences. This behaviour is incredibly unhealthy, and needs to be evaluated by a psychologist.

No one really knows how to form personal opinions, always try to permanently picture someone for what they have done, never understanding second party's perspective. These people only like to hear shiny words and put more fire into fire.

Let it go, people, let it go. This story is already rotting, its not good to keep eating it, move on. Solve your own problems, not someone else's. One day you'll also get into worse situations than this and THEN you'll realise...

dude looks drained , idk why these bozos of DreamSMP get into those cancellations thingys.

'Did you abuse your ex?'
Wilbur: yes
Shelby's friends: yes
SOME youtubers: well acktually..

I think regardless he was really visibly abusive to his friends and everyone, Niki said that her time in the UK was the darkest in her life, I don't think we can go round saying he wasn't a bad person, as much as it hurts
